    "One step away from MALWARE"

    March 20, 2015  |   By tuliphead

    Version: Opera 28.0.1750.48

    Pros

minimal interface, if that rocks your boat

    Cons

    - minimal interface, everything required is hidden or simply does not exist - no menus, no update option, most preferences either hidden or missing
    - Does not uninstall - had multiple versions of this CRAP on my computer going all the way back to version 10. I had foolishly assumed that each new version replaced the previous one. Also when tried to uninstall ALL versions it flat out refused to allow me to do so. Finally had to resort to RevoUninstaller to get rid of this heap of *****.
    - Hogs resources like none of the other browsers. Occassionally crashes computer when opening multiple pages which no other browser does.

    Summary

Dangerous resource hogging piece of MALWARE *****.

    "Home Button"

    March 15, 2015  |

    Version: Opera 28.0.1750.40

    Pros

better and faster than chrome and firefox.

    Cons

No home button and can't set up a home page only can set up a start page(which I don't need) and when i import bookmarks from HTML file I need to open folders after folders after folders just to get to my bookmarks just like firefox and the menu button on the top left kind like firefox menu too, it's really really bad.

    Summary

so back to using chrome, at lest chrome is better and faster than firefox

    Pros

Nothing I can't get from Chrome!

    Cons

    It's a mess!

"Switched to Opera from Chrome and FF"

    February 11, 2015  |

    Version: Opera 27.0.1689.66

    Pros

    1. Wicked fast - from my browsing experience, Opera is easily the fastest browser compared to FF and Chrome.
    2. Speed dial - I use it most of the time.
    3. Unique - It has a unique interface which is simple and efficient.
    4. Inherent news feed - self explanatory.
    5. Bookmark management - earlier, Opera did NOT support bookmark import from either files or other browsers. Gladly, they fixed this issue.
    6. Rocker gestures - takes some time getting used to, but you'll eventually love it.

    Cons

    1. Google search bar above the speed-dial icons ruins the browser's look, but you can choose to remove it dev. mode.

    Summary

I found that this browser caters to all of my needs - it's fast, neat and has a news feed. I guess Opera's done a great job here and is back to its innovative standards.

"Was good once, now it's GARBAGE!!!"

    December 4, 2014  |   By Redflava

    Version: Opera 26.0.1656.32

    Pros

This was once one of the best browsers I had ever used.

    Cons

It's horrible now! Removed Bing Search, and took away our right to choose! No simple way to export bookmarks...just to name a few. I am completely done with this browser. I am going to uninstall this look for a new browser. It's unfortunate, because I have been using Opera for years.

    "Piece of crap"

    October 31, 2014  |   By rgroberts9612

    Version: Opera 25.0.1614.68

    Pros

    None. Nope. Nada.

    Cons

Causes some facebook applications to crash. Clears pass words when you clear browser history. Has no color palette so not possible to change the color of visited pages. The color THEY chose is almost the same hue as unvisited pages. That new pop up in the upper right corner is not only not wanted, it is also extremely annoying.

    Summary

What Opera has done is to create a very compelling advertisement for Mozilla. I used to swear by Opera. No longer. They have created one of the most user unfriendly browsers I have ever run across. And to top it off, they are throwing google in your face. If it were possible I would give this iteration of Opera NO stars.

    Updated on Nov 4, 2014

After further investigation it is even worse than I originally reported. Every new link opens another opera browser. Does it go away when you close the link? NO. It stays there eating up memory. Is there a way to fix this with settings? Hard to tell since the menus offer little in the way of help. I suspect that trying to change the settings will be an exercise in futility. I tried changing the search engine from google to bing. google is still there. Nothing quite like taking a good thing and improving it straight into the ground. opera, you suck.
