"Has been ruined since Opera 12."

    July 20, 2015  |   By fredg06

    Version: Opera 30.0.1835.125

    Pros

Installed fast; and then uninstalled fast with Wise Program Uninstaller.

    Cons

Very Slow pulling up websites....much slower than Firefox. Very slow opening Gmail, and Yahoo Mail. Takes much longer than Firefox to clear all History, Cookies, Cache, etc. No Menu Bar.

    Summary

Opera 12 was very, very good. But, now with newer constructed web sites, Opera 12 doesn't work very well anymore. So, I tried this new version of Opera. They have really, really, ruined it, as someone else said.
It takes about 4 or 5 mouse clicks to find anything in settings now, and it's all packed away, trying to hide everything in settings. Takes forever to clear the cache, and cookies, if you can remember where to find it!! I'll stick with my new version of Firefox.
This Opera version is as slow as Internet Explorer 8, which is installed with my XP.

    "Exponentially improving browser!"

    July 15, 2015  |   By tdaso

    Version: Opera 30.0.1835.125

    Pros

    Clean & fast

    Cons

    Chromium memory consumption issues

    Summary

All criticism issues here are already overturned and every new version brings great improvements. Side bar is back - bookmarks are better & smarter than ever - looks are incredible - extensions are there for every taste - among the best in speed - syncing is great - speed dial is top-notch. If somebody wants to criticize without misleading potential downloaders, I suggest spending some time to test the browser before writing a review. As for the outrageous CNET rating, it's like they are still reviewing the ancient version 15 and not the current v. 32. Do not take my words as true: just take a ride, see for yourselves and be ready to get amazed with every new version.

    "Desktop + Android = Good"

    July 6, 2015  |   By John4217D

    Version: Opera 30.0.1835.88

    Pros

    Speed Dial!
    Syncing
    Stability

    Cons

    Lacks some Chrome extensions.

    Summary

As the Android version gets better, there's more sense in using Opera for desktop. Syncing your folders and bookmarks is on a high level. Overall, Opera gets better.

"NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE ORIGINAL OPERA BUT GUESS WHAT?"

    July 5, 2015  |   By tteksystems

    Version: Opera 30.0.1835.88

    Pros

It carries the name of what was once an excellent browser

    Cons

Is using the name of what was once a fantastic browser but has taken too many steps in directions that do not suit the original power users of their original version

    Summary

It might be over for the name "Opera" being a great browser but I have stumbled on something very interesting. The almost all of the original team of members who wrote, and supported the original Opera is back!!!. They know what has been going on and see clearly just how screwed up this new Opera is. They have a new browser that I am sure is geared towards meeting the needs of all of us users who once favored their premium browser and their vision. They have a story that clearly states the following:

The browser we once loved has changed its direction. Sadly, it is no longer serving its community of users and contributors - who helped build the browser in the first place.

This is a very clear look at how those guys see the way new Opera has evolved

Now, it may be new, with alot of work ahead, but I am following these guys and their current browser creation and it is called "Vivaldi". I hope ALL of the people who seem to claim this new Opera is the holy grail open their eyes one day because if they ever were serious users of the original Opera they would not have a word to say that shows any love to this new Opera crap. I've got enough time in on several browsers and I've found ways to make my Firfox close to my former Opra 12.xx. It's rather secure but I still prefer the way my old Opera handled all of my needs. New Opera is a complete failure except for those light users who do not need a powerful web broswer that makes sense. Those people just do not use the web enough to know what a bad browser is so how would they know?

Please take heed to the words of the original creators of Opera. This new Opera is so far out in left field that it makes little to no sense why anyone who knows anything would even give it a look. ViValdi is now the name I would be keeping a watch for. They have a few releases and they have a site showing all of the original members of the old Opera as they are together once again and their comment is they are making a browser for their friends. All of us who loved and supported the old Opera. We are those friends. Jump on board now and help support these guys again. They are probably gonna be going through some rough hurdles during the course of the development but I expect great things from them.

I cannot believe this new Opera is still being supported. I expect it to fail completely eventually. It's not even worthy to be considered a top browser anymore. Long Live OLD OPERA THROUGH THE NEW VIVALDI!!!!

    "This version sucks!"

    June 19, 2015  |   By gtitus09

    Version: Opera 30.0.1835.59

    Pros

The former version was lighter and easier on system resources.

    Cons

The newest version 30 is not. Hangs up frequently or is slow to open settings, or other.

    Summary

As I said the previous version I was using specifically as it played F.B. games the best without disconnecting or using too many resources. The new version is HORRIBLE! it hangs up all the time, it is SO slow in everything I try to do. It's a piece of crap is what it is.

"Sucks Since NSA took over Opera"

    May 25, 2015  |   By FredVanOl

    Version: Opera 29.0.1795.60

    Pros

    Lots of skins

    Cons

Direct link to NSA, Crashes, Doesn't work with a lot of sites. Disconnects if can't breach your firewall in weird ways (even though Opera itself is allowed)

    Summary

Older versions of Opera still work OK but newer versions have NSA hooks that make it very problematic.

    "Get it directly from Opera"

    April 27, 2015  |   By cnetmattreviews

    Version: Opera 28.0.1750.51

    Pros

When downloaded and installed from Opera, everything worked just fine. I just now started using it, so can't say to much about the product, yet.

    Cons

When downloading from CNET, my antivirus and firewall flagged malware "SUSPICIOUS.CLOUD.9", and the "product" was automatically deleted/quarantined.

    Summary

    Download directly from Opera.
This is not the first time I've experienced and heard of this from CNET. While CNET provides valuable services, they really need to get it together if they expect to be around much longer.

    "You gotta love it!"

    March 31, 2015  |   By dexteriot

    Version: Opera 28.0.1750.48

    Pros

Im a programmer and Im a long time Firefox and Chrome user. I tried Opera in the past but because it didnt have a feature where you could clear browsing history on exit I havent used it much. Recently I decided to try it again because FF was slow and wouldn't work well with videos. I was absolutely surprised to find new and improved Opera! The speed dial works well, I love the Discover feature. It is fast, works well with videos and other media. It still lacks clear history on exit feature, thats why I still use FF and Chrome, but I really, really like it!

    Cons

No 'clear browsing history on exit' option.

    Summary

    Love it!

    "One step away from MALWARE"

    March 20, 2015  |   By tuliphead

    Version: Opera 28.0.1750.48

    Pros

minimal interface, if that rocks your boat

    Cons

    - minimal interface, everything required is hidden or simply does not exist - no menus, no update option, most preferences either hidden or missing
    - Does not uninstall - had multiple versions of this CRAP on my computer going all the way back to version 10. I had foolishly assumed that each new version replaced the previous one. Also when tried to uninstall ALL versions it flat out refused to allow me to do so. Finally had to resort to RevoUninstaller to get rid of this heap of *****.
    - Hogs resources like none of the other browsers. Occassionally crashes computer when opening multiple pages which no other browser does.

    Summary

Dangerous resource hogging piece of MALWARE *****.
