Version: OpenOffice.org 1.1.3
Pros: Free! Loads fast, full of features, very productive. And it's for free! It's SO similar to MS Office XP. It can rival MS Office, but it has little possibilities in winning. It has multiple functions as expected. It doesn't take much hard drive space for a complete office suite. And it's low on the RAM too. It's one of the best! Get OpenOffice NOW!!
Cons: The interface really needs work. It would be better if they made it look like MS Office 2003 than MS Office XP. It can rival MS Office but it doesn't have huge possibilities in winning. But those faults won't make it bad! It's great! Get it now!

"AHHHH. The free alternative to Microsoft, A+"
Pros: My Microsoft Word became corrupt. I didn't feel like manually restoring the .dll files it lost. So, I downloaded this puppy. It automatically converts Word files to open office files. AND, you can re-convert back to Word, or just use Open Office, and save it Word Format!!! If you have any experience with Word, and are fairly apt with your PC, then this Free word processing utility is something you should consider.... It comes bundeled with a Word Alternative, a Powerpoint Alternative, a Quickbooks Alternative and MORE. Several hundred dollars if you would buy it from Microsoft. Free, and safe from Sun Microsystems (they make processors and software in CA), this is a MUST HAVE utility!!!
Cons: Cons: That I didn't find out about it sooner!

"It is good, but not good enough to oust MS Office"
Pros: It is a good and stable programme (watch out for the 2.0 beta because it may cause the infamous blue screen) with a good layout and numerous options. I will be looking forward to seeing this programme to develop further. At this moment it is good for the user who is not depended on MS Office documents.
Cons: At this moment it will not make me set MS Office aside and there are some good reasons to back up that decision. Firstly MS Office documents aren?t all converted and loaded well into Open Office and this is extremely important since many of my clients deliver their work in MS Office format. Secondly, the spelling check, thesaurus and synonym list within Open Office are poor compared to those of MS Office, hence not suitable for good text revision.

"why shell out [more] cash to Micro$oft?"
Pros: This product contains all the main things that you would use in Microsoft Office, but this contains it for free. The programs work and feel the same. This does not include an equivalent to Access nor an email program like Outlook, but as for the email program, just type in "Thunderbird" in the search window for download[dot]com and get Mozilla's free (and much more secure than Outlook) email program.

"Commercial Quality Office Suite."
Pros: I would say that this is the best free Office Suite around. It has so many features including advanced features that are not available in Microsoft Office. It is more than enough for an average user and it's good for small business that doesn't want to spend alot of money. It has all the features for an average user and also enough power to the power users.
Cons: A little bit slow on older machines
