"Helped solve horrible load times when browsing"
Version: OpenDNS 1
Pros
Better browsing, feel safer with it, only my current freeware virusscanner doesn't give me the same confidence against phishing. Really easy to install, no need to worry about compatibility with other virusscanner/firewalls & Free! Truly amazing.
Cons
haven't found any yet.
Summary
Never had problems with load times of webpages, but with new computer with Windows 7 suddenly got really bad.. Other PC was still working fine though. I thought Chrome was to blame, because I'd just switched to Chrome on the new system, also tried Firefox and continued to have issues (Download speed was still fine however). Resetting Modem & Router solved nothing. After reading online decided to try OpenDNS and it's worked like a charm, no more problems when browsing, and also a lot of extra functionality I wasn't even looking for, I feel safer browsing with the anti-Phishing stuff. The fact that it's free and doesn't interfere with Virusscanners, firewalls and basically all the security stuff that often ends up fighting eachother makes it a great option when experiencing problems with browsing. Will probably keep using it mainly for peace of mind.

"Basic Filtering lacks fundamental controls and security"
Version: OpenDNS 1
Pros
Filters DNS. Yippie. If you need real control for your business, purchase something stronger such as Barracuda, Websense, or iBoss filter
Cons
What about the rest of the web. did we all forget about streaming videos, chat, etc. Not a realistic solution for todays Internet admins looking for real control.
Summary
my issue is as a network engineer, you should know that opendns is fine and dandy for basic filtering. The web is much more robust. Tried this and have to say its ok to filter a five year old. But any teen will walk through this. At an office, even worse. what about chat, file sharring, music downloading, FTP, group membership, and so on. If you think your employees are locked down, someone needs to wake you up. And the network engineer, no offense but seems that online degree didnt provide a good background. Again, decent but not realistic for savvy networks.
Made a mistake. I would rate this a 3

"Works like a charm"
Version: OpenDNS 1
Pros
way to many to fit into 250 characters. its flawless other then the issue mentioned below. really easy to set up, reliable and FREE!!!
Cons
only issue the category blocker. you may block a few categories that are in obvious need of it, but if you choose things like proxys or portals it has a tendency to block a large amount of search sites our employees need. other then that its flawless
Summary
Its free and there are 10000x as many pros as cons with this software. its free and gets great reviews the world over. if anyone has any serious issues with this site they need to contact someone because they obviously haven't set up there computer right. I also love the feature that lets you know if you are reaching their site through them or you default DNS

"A must-have for those with slow internet connections"

Cons
I actually can't think of any.

"Great Internet enhancement"
Version: OpenDNS 1
Pros
Sometimes, the Internet can be faster if you use their DNS servers instead of your ISPs, especially during peak Internet usage time. The phishing protection can be an extra layer of security.
Other helpful features include adult/offensive site blocking and network usage statistics.
Cons
The automatic invalid DNS request redirection to a custom search page may be confusing to some home users.
