"Found where missing space was!!!"
Version: OmniDiskSweeper 1.5 beta 1
Summary

Installed Carbon Copier last week as just bought an external drive....after cloning I noticed that I'd 'lost' 10GB of much needed space on my hard drive...I went to terminal and searched for big files, new files, etc, etc but could not find the problem....after searching versiontracker for an appropriate tool I came across and installed this....after 30 seconds (no exageration) I saw that /Volumes had created a copy of some (10GB!!!) of my cloned disk (which I now need to go back and look into)....easy peasy...great software...many thanks....I'll also be using it in future as it gave me a great graphical breakdown of my 80GB drive and saved some more space elsewhere on the disk.... -
"CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT"
Version: OmniDiskSweeper 1.4 beta 2
Summary

After a brief period of not using it because it was a little disorienting to learn, I suddenly understood and can't live without this. Now I can't imagine how I couldn't understand - it's simple. Most people just can't remember everything on their drives, and when you start to see the massive amound of stuff that you forget about that's killing you - one session saved me the cost of the entire program if you actually use any VIDEO, or lots of music, or even big, old, photoshop files - and the many many gigabytes of space wasted by installers to programs, and languages of many countries that you know none of us will ever need or use. GET YOUR SPACE BACK! -
"Yes.. you missed something.."
Version: OmniDiskSweeper 1.3
Summary

It's great to see it in a columned list that updates itself as you go. Makes whacking off stuff way less time consuming. If you can't recognize valuable system files using ODS then you can't using Finder either. -
"Why not use the Finder?"
Version: OmniDiskSweeper 1.4 beta 2
Summary

Open a list view Finder window on your hard drive. Enable folder size calculation. Sort by file size in descending order. Open up the hierarchy as desired or suggested by aggregate sizes. Delete huge items at the top of the lists, if they aren't of any value.
Did I miss something? Oh, one needs to know how to recognize system or other valuable files when doing this... For that we should pay $15. I don't think so... -
