Pros: Very simple and not installation required!
Cons: It's a bit slow on saving .eml files!

Pros: Free.
Cons: I was nervous about downloading software with only one review, so I will say that I didn't run into anything dangerous. But I haven't been able to make use of this program. The options are limited and cryptic. I started to list what happened when I tried different things, but I'm too busy. One specific: When I try to open the dbx files, I get an error, something like, "This file is not an OE 5 Message datatbase." No, I use OE 6. The readme seems (I'm not tech-savvy) to direct the user toward source code; so I imagine that someone smarter than I could update it. I don't want to pay $30-$40, if I can avoid it, to repair a mistake (following online instructions for OE backup -- I suspect the "compact messages" was what changed the file format) that I intend not to make again.
Maybe I'll contact the guy who wrote it.
OE sells software for this that is much cheaper than all the for-sale versions on Cnet.
I'm off to Thunderbird . . . !

"Very simple, FREE, reads DBX's and saves in readable format"
Pros: Its Free with no limitations and works. It was a great help saving my emails from a stuffed hardrive.
Cons: Its very simple and it would have been nice to be able to have a set output folder.

Pros: I've tried a few OE mailbox readers before, and this one beats the band. Downloaded and installed within 5 minutes, I had the info out of an old dbx file in less than 5 minutes, complete with attachments. Can't believe it's free. Doesn't ask for registration or other frustrating messages, just gets on with the job. I can only comment on using it with OE6 dbx files.
