    "Works very well"

    May 16, 2013  |   By iapad

    Version: ODIR 1.1

    Pros

I installed it on my Outlook 2010 and was able to remove all duplicates. It works very well without problems. There is no hidden request for payment like in many other similar softwares.

    Cons

None so far. To find the application one has to look under adds-on.

    "Leaves phantom files upon uninstall"

    March 31, 2013  |   By macswtracker

    Version: ODIR 1.1

    Pros

None. Seems not to work in Win 7.

    Cons

I uninstalled this because it found no duplicates
This software left phantom files (named, but not found in the files' directories) in many subdirectories and they cannot be deleted.

    Summary

The blurb at the top of this CNET page is the publisher's most complete statement of how this software works. The help file appears to be a single, lone webpage which says to look at the help files for the parallel fee-generating program. The company explicitly does not support this free program.

"Only hangs up Outlook 2010 without doing anything"

    April 18, 2012  |   By rham002

    Version: ODIR 1.1

    Pros

Free and required functionality that should actually be part of Outlook itself.

    Cons

    Does not function.
Does not provide feedback about its actions.
Steals focus of Outlook, blocks user to use Outlook any further.

"Doesn't do what it says on the tin!"

    January 11, 2012  |   By SuziM2004

    Version: ODIR 1.1

    Pros

    Free - easy to install

    Cons

Keeps telling me my Inbox - which has just been re-populated with over 1,000 duplicates is empty when I try to de-dupe!

    Summary

Might work with other parts of Outlook but not for the bulkiest - Inbox - what a disappointment - once again back to manual removal - life is too short!

    "Saved me hours of work."

    November 12, 2010  |   By john925

    Version: ODIR 1.1

    Pros

Great product for removing duplicate messages!

    Cons

CNET's download is way out of date.

    Summary

First, I've only given four stars because I've only tested deleting duplicate mail messages. If there are no problems deleting duplicate appointments, contacts, etc. then ODIR definitely deserves five starts.

I desperately needed a free tool to remove duplcate messages to help a faculty member at the university I work at. ODIR removed thousands of duplicate messages. My only concern is that CNET is providing v1.1 for download while the current version is 1.4.4. I believe that the problems other people have commented on are likely to have been fixed in the current version.

    "Fulfilled Expectations 110%!! GREAT Program!"

    November 8, 2009  |   By oemcorp

    Version: ODIR 1.1

    Pros

Very easy deletion, even from drill-down subfolders only. Does one folder at a time. Duplicates are not actually removed until you press "Remove Duplicates" when done, and even then, dups are still SAVED in a new subfolder until you delete it.!

    Cons

It was not initially obvious that duipes had not been removed yet. I had not notice the "Delete Duplicates" button, thinking it had been done already. This had to run overnight to clean up my 6 GB PST file. I think this is fairly fast.

    Summary

I had tried another program, that was a TRIAL, and which would not let me drill down into my many Outlook folders. I uninstalled it and went to Vaita's ODIR. This was EASY, FREE, SIMPLE, SAFE, and worked easily the first time. NOTE: Their web site also offers a Sync program between different Outlook files, such as your Deskop and Laptop. The Lite version is free for syncing just contacts.
