    "Fill out and save PDF forms, NOT"

    June 24, 2011  |   By Pig-man

    Version: Nuance PDF Reader 7

    Pros

    It is a good reader.

    Cons

    That is all it is, a good reader.
    Spent a couple of days and found no way to "Fill out and save PDF forms".
    Trying to use the convert PDF function for 2 days only to get the message "Service is unavailable".

    Summary

    If you want a PDF reader only this is a good one.

    "Edit any PDF in Word or OpenOffice Writer!"

    May 31, 2011  |   By charlessmall18

    Version: Nuance PDF Reader 7

    Pros

    The reader features of Nuance's PDF reader are OK. That is, you can read PDFs in it. However, main reason for getting it is that you can convert any PDF into a .doc file you can edit in MS Word or OpenOffice Writer (and save as a PDF from Writer).

    Cons

    None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None. None.

    Summary

    Be smart and get this reader in case you ever want to edit a PDF or extract text or graphics or formatting from a PDF for use in another program such as MS Word or OpenOffice Writer.

    "Almost Good - Adware to left side of any opened pdf"

    May 10, 2011  |   By EyeKnowIt

    Version: Nuance PDF Reader 7

    Pros

    Nice design, visual appeal, fairly fast but not as fast as foxit

    Cons

    Any opened document has a left panel of adware cycling through flash. You can close it for that time, but if you reopen anything its back.

    Summary

    Bulware.....a way of sliding in their dumas ads and almost offering something good. It aint free if it annoys!

    I am really very glad I was able to start working on my document in a matter of less than 30 seconds! The conversion preserved the format, lines, and columns that I had in the original document, and I could also count the words. Excellent product!

    Cons

    No Cons. Everything is great!

    "It works pretty well."

    February 22, 2011  |   By looker19

    Version: Nuance PDF Reader 7

    Pros

    It is accurate to about 97%

    Cons

    I have to send it away to be converted and it has to be retrieved in my email.

    Summary

    You have to read it carefully after it is converted. Then you have to figure how to recover what it misread.

    "very good but not great"

    January 30, 2011  |   By GERRY RAINS

    Version: Nuance PDF Reader 7

    Pros

    Many plusses

    Cons

    A few things lacking that the old and once great foxit reader had

    Summary

    It's the best out there now.

    Updated on Feb 1, 2011

    Now that Foxit Reader has lost their minds Nuance seems to be the best around. Too bad. I loved Foxit Reader before they hooked up with the Ask Toolbar and eBay. So it's Nuance for now.

    "terrific free product, let down by zero support"

    January 23, 2011  |   By kriswa

    Version: Nuance PDF Reader 7

    Pros

    this offers most of the features you will get from Adobe's commercial Acrobat Standard edition, (if you combine it with a good free PDF printer);
    nice comtemporary interface

    Cons

    often loses downloaded files over a DSL or slower connection;
    cannot print/copy a selected area of a page, (only embedded images);
    doesn't save rotated views;
    control keys (zoom/scroll/pagedn/etc) don't work in browser mode, and non-standard

    Summary

    a product with great potential, from a company only interested in supporting their commercial products (there is no forum/contact info for users of this software). if it wasn't for those few issues, I would be rolling this out enterprise-wide in every office I work.
