"WARNING: No response from Rechair after paying"
Version: Notmad Explorer 8.7.9
Pros
Looks good
Cons
Company appears to be out of business. Have had to file a claim with Pay-Pal.
Summary
This should no longer be on Cnet.. This is a reputable site and this vendors web site is up, but "dead" as far as activation and response to e-mail. It is still accepting $ and you do not know is is "broken" until you never get the e-mail with the second activation code.

"Red Chair completely unresponsive"
Version: Notmad Explorer 8.7.9
Pros
It can offer a better interface than Creative software
Cons
These guys are just after your money. They are completely unresponsive to customer complaints (a quick search of the web will underscore this) and I would strongly recommend that you boycott this company until they have a major change in attitude towards customers. If you are a customer and unsatisfied, then get your credit card copany to reverse the charge.

"Can download -- can't get money back"
Version: Notmad Explorer 8.7.9
Pros
NOTHING...
Cons
DO NOT PAY THESE GUYS ANYTHING. I purchased their product on line, couldn't download it, and only got back automatic messages when I asked for help. I'm not the first to have these problem either. They have no phone number or any way to contact them. Probably some kind of scam.

"totally user friendly; perfect interface for your player"
Version: Notmad Explorer 8.7.9
Pros
Since ipod is so popular now, Creative owners are dumping their units on ebay for major cheap rates. Creative's webpage offers downloadable software that is at best, clumsy. Enter Notmad Explorer. This interface transfers files effortlessly from computer to player and back again with ease. A previous review stated that files do not transfer to computer--not so with the current version. As with any new toy, I spent a couple of hours getting acquainted with the features, but Notmad is truly easy to use. I don't have a 2.0 USB high speed enabler (or whatever they're called) and I still can download a song in LESS THAN A MINUTE. You math majors can figure out how long a whole CD takes. I rip my CD music at 192, and I get fantastic sound with no download errors.
Not only are there fast downloads, but if you have SHOUTCAST (I do), the files are compatible to your mp3. Notmad also provides an application that streams your music from your mp3 through your computer. Of course you can make playlists as well.
I have had a lot of fun learning how to maximize my Zen with Notmad. There are so many features in this software, most entry level folks like me won't even get around to all the great stuff this application provides. I spent 25 bucks, but I wasn't disappointed. There is a free version as well, so please test drive it.
Cons
Downloading does freeze from time to time with excessive use (but that was over an hour of downloading)

"Great alternative to the so so Nomad Explorer that comes with the unit"
Version: Notmad Explorer 8.7.6
Summary
Great software product. Allows you to convert on the fly and seems to be significantly faster than the Creative software for file transfers. Highly recommended.
