    "THE text editor for Windows"

    Pros

    the FTP plugin makes it perfect for editing remote files. Has all the features I need: Syntax highlighting for most languages, block folding, auto-complete, function completion and parameter hints. Side-by-side editing of two files is awesome. Supports most text encodings and character sets.
    If you have a text problem, Notepad++ will solve it.

    Cons

    Does not do vacuuming or laundry.

    Summary

    More than a text editor, not quite an IDE.
