"Excellent IDE for almost all the Programming Languages........"
Pros: It is just not a Notepad++ it is Features++ which supports almost all the programming languages, with Color codings, Collapsable levels, and in-built RUN feature.
Eventhough I use Visual Studio IDE, I found this Application quite Useful and Simple.
+ Plug-ins & Integration with all programming languages.
+ Free, No Adware/Spyware.
Cons: + Much BETTER than other Tools & Editors I had Used.

"Light like Notepad, powerful as C++"
Pros: Notepad++ is fantastic tool for any developer. It is so light and simple, yet has almost everything (web) developer might need. Tabs, session saving and loading, great markup, 30+ languages support, tag beggining/end highlight, +/- tags closing, character replacement, macro recording, favorites (!) and a bunch of other handy options to fit your fine needs.
It very usable during work (i.e. when highlighting part of line, when you accidently move mouse to lower or upper line, it wont put you back to line beginning, like other text editors), only 1.37, free, so everyone must consider installing this fellow.
Cons: Knowing it's free and so light, you can't really expect it to have things like preview and w3c compliant code generator, can you? And besides, tr00 developers don't need that stuff.

"Being Called Just a Notepad is Misleading"
Pros: In one way or another, I guarantee any programmer that handles a snippet of source code will at some point or another end up with Notepad++ in their hard drive. With the tabbed windows, panel splits, macro support, folding + syntax highlighting, and other extensive features ranging from Base64 decoding to FTP synchronizing, I can't really blame hem. It also isn't surprising that, as I write this, Notepad++ holds ground as the third best project over at SourceForge (was #1 quite a few times, actually).
Cons: Being fair and honest, there are some minor drawbacks that kept me from pure satisfaction. They are very minor, but it's the small things in life that annoy me the most. Startup times are sluggish, but understandably so. The custom syntax editor is a nice touch, but it is way too limited to use it seriously. The default regex search & replace tool is also very limited, but the TextFX plugin takes care of that. Range of options are plentiful, but I find some are practically useless (Zoom In/Out, for example). and the number of plugins are something to be desired.

Version: Notepad++ 4.0.1
Pros: Like Firefox, FileZilla, MagicDisk, and many other programs, this one should just come with the operating system. Notepad++ is absolutely jam packed with almost everything you could ever want from it. A wide array of file compatibility, the ability to use tabs and remember which ones were open when you last, and line numbering and bookmarking are all notepad-essential features that Notepad++ provides. It's also an extremely useful tool for coding and scripting, as it's not bulky like Dreamweaver or Visual Studio, and has syntax coloring for almost any scripting or programming language out there as well as automatic indenting. And all this isn't even most of the pleasures anyone may find from Notepad++.
Cons: Nothing except that I wish it has auto complete, but I guess that's what Dreamweaver is for!
