Easy to use, helps to make sure coding is correct, opens many files that notepad or dreamweaver will not.

"Portable version is not the same as the normal one!"

Has all the benefits of notepad++ plus it's portable ==> no need for installation (can be used through a usb memory stick or cd/dvd etc.
Cons
The fact that there is no installation makes it not useful if you plan to make it the default editor for some files. In that case just use notepad++ not the portable version
Summary
Notepad++ is a great free text editor with syntax highlighting for many programming languages, lots of plugins, macros etc etc. I was using ultraedit until I discovered this program and never looked back!

None, can't install it without debugging which is too much effort for this app
Cons
can't get it installed with reading the site and install wizard screens, etc it is not possible.
Summary
should be a good app but if it fails to install (can't write to directories under C:\Program Files\Notepad++) so i can't recommend it.
