"Almost the best I've ever used"
Version: NoteTab Pro 6.12
Pros
It is a full featured text editor with a huge library of utilities and add on features. It is fast and easy to use for files of any size. html editing is nearly intuitive on it.
Cons
It doesn't do column delete and sometimes finding familiar utilities can be time consuming.
Summary
It is easily one of the three best text editors available and it replaces Notepad with the flick of a mouse.
-
"It's been great for years!"
Version: NoteTab Pro 6.12
Pros
Very simple plain text editor. Great for editing HTML files. Doesn't mess with any binary data unless wanted. New version offers UTF-8 encoding and other encoding schemes so it's very handy for creating Google sitemaps.
Cons
I've been using it so long I can't think of any cons.
Summary
Great replacement for MS Notepad
-

"Not your normal text editor."
Version: NoteTab Pro 6.12
Pros
NoteTab Pro has too many features to mention. It is a programmers dream tool. The array of add-ons allows the program to be customized to individual needs making it a very versital program.
Cons
It takes some work to really appreciate the program capabilities.
Summary
NoteTab Pro is an invaluable programming tool. It has been my primary text editor for over 15 years now and have not found anything that's comparable to it.
-
"quick and smart, best text editor"

"I will never go back..."
Version: NoteTab Pro 6.12
Pros
Kate for Linux was good, I thought I had found my Notepad killer app. I was wrong. I love NoteTab. I even run NoteTab under WINE in Linux...
Cons
The Lite version doesn't have line numbers...
Summary
It has a small footprint. It has so much functionality, I use a lot of it's advanced features. But, I'm convinced I don't use half of all the good stuff they put in there despite the small footprint. And it's useful stuff too. I reuse a lot of code. I can program any of 65 stock type documents/code in under a minute with full flexibility in what initialization lines I want, what database connections I will use, functions, layout, and all kinds of things. It speeds up my work tremendously. It is micromanaged templating on crack.
-
"Very flexible and capable program"
Version: NoteTab Pro 6.12
Pros
I like the tabbed interface -- helps me keep my important info at my fingertips.
Cons
So much to explore, so little time.
Summary
This program is worth every penny.
-
"Fast Plain Text and HTML Editing"
Version: NoteTab Pro 6.12
Pros
It loads quickly. Has HTML coding help feature. I like the feature that allows you to either add HTML to plain text or strip HTML to turn a web page into plain text. I use it frequently. The outline feature allows you to link documents together.
Cons
The only downside is it has so many features and capabilities that it might be too much for beginning users. The solution is simple, however; use as much or as little as you need to of the features.
Summary
I highly recommend NoteTab Pro. It has been around for years and has improved over time.
