Version: NoteTab Light 4.95
"Look some place else"
Pros: I'm looking for a NotePad alternative, and this one has a lot of features at your fingertips...
Cons: The free version does NOT give you line numbers, which is the #1 reason to use a NotePad replacement. It generally lacks basic ease of use. For example, it tabs opened documents, but there's no X to close each tab. It does not color-code anything, not even CSS, XML or HTML. The "macro" features may be nice, but you would only use a few of them in very rare cases -- they really just takes up screen space.

Line Numbers: They are displayed in the status bar.
Close Tab: They can be closed by right-clicking and choosing close, or by CTRL+F4 - which is usually faster than clicking an 'x' button. It also saves space.
Macro Screen Space: The macro bar can be hidden - just press F4 or change it in the view menu.
Syntax colouring: Nice to have, but not really necessary if you write properly indented code. The pro version does have this feature.
