    "When will people ever learn"

    Pros

    When will people ever learn to use an image based backup utility and back up to an external drive at least once a week.Assuming your image backup is clean,you can defeat most infections by restoring from an image from before infection.Acronis True Image Home has worked wonders in the case of my wife's pc.

    Cons

    In the hands of the non-tech saavy,this WILL ruin your pc.ALL tools of this type should be prefaced by a statment in big bold black letters that this tool is intended for use by pc techs and should never ever be used by anyone else.

    Completely agree with you and I'm a pc tech.
    Before erasing if you have problems with your pc consider doing a System Restore.
