    "BUGGY WITH BUGS"

    October 10, 2012  |   By earth70

Version: Norton Internet Security 2013 20.1

    Pros

NICE TO LOOK AT FAST SCAN, SIMPLE TO INSTALL, GREAT FIREWALL..

    Cons

START UP A PROBLEM. GUI LOCKS UP AND TAKES ABOUT 30SECS TO SHOW UP. NORTON HAS A RED X ON START UP AND TAKE UPTO 10MINS TO GO GREEN..

    Summary

NORTON WILL SORT THIS SECURITY 2013 OUT. AND THE PROBLEMS ARE KNOWN TO THEM IF YOU GOOGLE IT. ONE REVIEW SAID FIREWALL IS BAD "WHAT" IT'S ONE OF THE BEST OUT THERE PLUS IT'S FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE FROM THE GROUND UP. WHICH IS MORE THAN I CAN SAY FOR OTHERS.

"NIS 2013 is still a work in progress - sluggish"

    September 25, 2012  |   By MTBWY

Version: Norton Internet Security 2013 20.1

    Pros

Have use NIS for more than 8 years, have not been infected.

    Cons

NIS2013 Version 20.1.1.2 does not work well. Startup time takes 30 seconds more, shotdown also takes much more time, interface is terrible, have lockups with Firefox and Chrome. It looks like it is still on beta. Having 3 new new i7 W7 PCs... had to install NIS2012 again but even that one does not work as well or as fast as before since version 18+.

    Summary

Do not recommend upgrading to NIS2013 at least for several months, don't make that mistake. I will search for other security software when my service ends.

    "It certainly shows norton's arrogance"

    September 22, 2012  |   By 54Mark54

Version: Norton Internet Security 2013 20.1

    Pros

Efficient and fast without consuming a lot of System Resources. As good or better than ever for protections.

    Cons

Your identity safe must now be stored on the cloud by default you only have the option of storing it locally for an upgrade and that will go away in the future.

The toolbar is huge ways unneeded features such as a share button for Facebook (and other social media) that cannot be disabled by the customer.

These issues were brought to Norton's attention during beta testing but they chose to ignore customer feedback.

    Summary

While I've always liked Norton products it's time to start looking elsewhere when my subscription is up for renewal.

Version: Norton Internet Security 2013 20.1

    Pros

Set it and forget it, and the Symantec customer support is very good.

    Cons

Antivirus protection not the best. Norton products also having a high price.

    Summary

Not much happends since version 2012, maybe the interface are even more worse. Looks like a LEGO Duplex Puzzle.

"Not as good as Norton 2012"

    September 18, 2012  |   By Winapps

Version: Norton Internet Security 2013 20.1

    Pros

    Good protection, good firewall.

    Cons

Some features removed or downgraded such as the offline password vault. Password vault is now in the cloud and you have to trust your passwords to Symantec's servers. If for some reason you can't access the Symantec's servers you are out of luck as far as your passwords are concerned. If you install over 2012 as an upgrade you can keep your local vault. If you do a clean install you lose your local password vault.

    Summary

A once great security suite is now mediocre at best.

At the top or near the top of the list of security suites as rated by the independent labs.

Low system resource use. I have been using this on a Windows7 laptop without any issues.

    Cons

    None at the moment.
