Was installed and apparently wasn't working for a few weeks before I found out. Then spent a few hours waiting to chat online to get it fixed. Then he told me to restart the computer but when you do that the chat will end. If you like waiting for answers do buy it but just know I'll be waiting in line to chat ahead of you.
Summary
get as far away from Norton as you can. walk, run, fly, train, turn the computer off, don't answer the door it my be Norton with some inadequate software.

This product only offers specialised protection over Windows Defender from specific attacks.

IMO This product is Malware. Nortons (Symantec) promote phising and Trojan app installs that "infect" PCs with their software. Their trials trick forced registration and give no option to back out.
Luckily my daughter knew something was wrong once here PC was infected and was asking her to register.
Once it's installed you can only remove it with a special piece of software. You cannot uninstall! If Symantec remove access to their removal program. Well good luck. Based on their marketing techniques I would not be surprised at all.Summary

The behavior and file rep blocks a good amount of unknown threats to their signatures. Nice interface that is easy to use
Cons
Doesn't offer a lot of cofigurable setting for the advanced user. lags everyo nce and a while. Default-allow architect. complaints about computer slow down.
Summary
It is a good product. Very automatic which means it will be good for novice user. It does not give much control over what changes are made to the system.

Pros
Used Norton Internet Security for years and has always protected PC (though see cons for recent exception). Latest version does not slow PC significantly. Found ID safe really useful

Recently upgraded PC to Windows 7 and MS Office 2013 (365) and immediately started having problems with Norton Internet Security 2013 e.g. error codes 3040,10180187 and 8504,104 and 3040,30187. ID safe Vault repeatedly saying restart needed and Norton tray icon disappearing. Also on checking running processes Norton did not appear to be running I could not open any Norton feature and I suspect system was not protected. After many hours following self-help guidance, emails to Symantec, waiting for online chat support and them tweaking system settings via remote control the problems we still not fixed. After more hours searching the net I found a comment that someone had the same problems and they were able to stop all those problems by disabling the Norton AntiSpam plugin in Outlook 2013. I did so and guess what - you got it - no further problems
Summary
Norton AntiSpam plugin is not compatible with Outlook 2013. The whole program and all its other features only work if the Outlook 2013 AntiSpam plugin is disabled. Also despite their politeness and apparent attempts to help the Norton support team is both slow to respond (the 2 online chat sessions I had took one hour and two hours wait time to actually connect to a representative - perhaps they are overloaded with the kind of problems I was having) and slow to identify where the problem seems to be arising - I had the feeling that the support team whilst trying to be incredibly helpful were blind to the possibility that the program itself might be faulty

Somethings wrong with the latest version and Norton has no fix or has no interest in fixing. For several months the ccscvhst.exe consumes too much CPU even when not at idle. Last I head from them is that they're investigating the issue.
Summary
Can't recommend this program any more. I've used it for years but it's become too much of a CPU/ Memory hog.

There can be no pros if the only solution to the product stopping your browsers from working is the uninstallation of the tool itself.

Can't remove from within windows 7, have to download their removal tool. After Removal tool is used you get a window telling you how to reinstall.....as if??!!! No effin' way!!!
Summary
Great product if you want to create headaches for yourself. I suspect Symantec is owned by the makers of Advil or Tylenol.

DON'T WASTE UR TIME OR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have had norton for 2 years now and purchased the 2013 NIS. It keeps freezing my computer which I never had a problem with. It just stopped working had to uninstall and reinstall. It messed up my dvd drive everytime I uninstalled it I had to run fix it to get it back. Plus I keep finding errors all over my computer that I didnt have 2 mos ago b4 I got 2013. I called norton they told me thats not possible. Plus IE runs soooo slowly now I even upgraded my speed from my IP. No change! Absolutely JUNK.
