    Pros

Worked fine on XP, seems to run faster than last year's 360

    Cons

Destroyed Internet explorer, Firefox, Office Pro, Java and more. May still not have it straightened out

    "GREAT PROTECTION BUT..."

    August 28, 2011  |   By CorzaJL

Version: Norton Internet Security 2011 18.1.0.37

    Pros

Norton's Detection rate is Astonishing, They have definitely improved on detection and have become No1 for Detecting the most viruses and removing them.

    Cons

Although their detection is amazing the UI Is Ugly and it still uses a high amount of RAM and CPU But not as much as before which is a start...
    its WAAAYYY over Priced

    Summary

if you have a High Spec PC lets say with 2GB RAM then use it you wont have any Problems any lower and you WILL struggle as it pretty much uses 500MB of RAM, Its UI is not Great its Way over Priced and Updates are POOR, Apart from that Protection is Amazing
    UI >3/10, Protection > 100/100 :] , Features >6/10, Price >5/10, Overall >6/10

"good software but not the best"

    August 16, 2011  |   By travis_podol_ski

Version: Norton Internet Security 2011 18.1.0.37

    Pros

kinda powerful and protects u from phishing and stuff..

    Cons

very slow scan and the yellow interface is so stupid, it hurts my eyes. it doesnt catch new malware until a day after it is released or so..which means that the 5-15 pulse updates help in nothing

    Summary

bottom line, it is not bad but i wouldnt use it again, ive got eset baby!

    Updated on Aug 16, 2011

database is too heavy compared to some other antiviruses

    "Warning!!!View people's ratings not CNET's editors $$!"

    August 13, 2011  |   By gmoney007xxx

Version: Norton Internet Security 2011 18.1.0.37

    Pros

None too expensive you never get your refund for this junk you pay and you get to talk to a person you can NOT understand. Buy this junk if you want to get endless run around on the phone ripped off and your pc/laptop crushing all the time.

    Cons

Very hard to remove from your PC/Laptop to me Norton is a Virus and/or malware once you try to delete it your PC?laptop will crush and you will have to insert your restore and recovery cd's into your PC/laptop and lose all your hard work!!!!

    Summary

This is a company that pays to get their sorry software preinstall on PC/laptops because no one would buy it or try it otherwise because it sucks!!!! Best software are like Avast or others that many of us get by CHOICE!!!! Malwarebytes Anti-Malware with CCleaner, Smart Defrag by Advance SystemCare 4, Auslogics Boostspeed and/or Glary Utilities. And most are FREE!!!! Better than NORTON JUNK and FREE!!!!

"Xfinity offers similar Suite which is good"

    August 12, 2011  |   By jscott418

Version: Norton Internet Security 2011 18.1.0.37

    Pros

Minimal annoyance factor, easy to install, low resource impact.

    Cons

The Xfinity version installs Security Guard from Comcast/Xfinity which is too bad. A bit slow for full scan. Somewhat annoying that it installs toolbar without your approval.

    Summary

Although this is a much improved Norton product over older ones. I have to say this is probably only for those users who a super paranoid about Malware. If you don't mind big brother watching you and your incredably careless about web sites you navigate too. Then I think if you have Comcast/Xfinity broadband this is a very good way to get a free security suite that is very good.

    "It's alright... I guess..."

    July 17, 2011  |   By leaktester_777

Version: Norton Internet Security 2011 18.1.0.37

    Pros

Great web protection, allows you to block certain IP addresses from connecting to you (which I love) and has several protection features.

    Cons

While Norton is good, it does have it's share of problems that keep it from achieving 5 stars. An annoying thing is, when you turn off some of the shields (I don't recommend you do this) but the file shield still removes viruses anyway.

    Summary

Norton is okay, but get the internet security or 360 suite. The antivirus itself is a bit overrated. People generally trust Symantec way too much. Always have a second opinion. Especially with this program.

    Updated on Jul 17, 2011

Sorry, I meant when you turn off the file shield, it still removes malware.

Version: Norton Internet Security 2011 18.1.0.37

    Pros

    Cons

    Summary

their customer support service are based in india.. their company is based outside of US.. their tatic is to charge your card multiple times, then bombard you with a never ending cycle of ******** without ever addressing the problem. YOU CAN NEVER GET A LIVE REPRESENTATIVE. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY NORTON doesnt have the federal trade commission on them..
