    Version: Norton Internet Security 2010

    "Massive improvement!!!"

    by saadu_sweetypie on November 26, 2008

    Pros: + Efficient memory usage
+ Simple and easier to use interface
    + Updates are very fast
+ Blazing fast virus scan (faster than Nod, trust me!)
    + Doesn't slow down my pc as Kaspersky IS 2009 did (C2D E8400 3.0GHZ, 2GB RAM,Vista Ultimate 32bit)

Cons: -Takes a bit time to boot up compared to Nod (I am an ESET fanboy)

Summary: People!!! stop rating this product poorly!!!! I am personally an ESET fanboy and was a Kaspersky maniac!!! But after using this product, trust me!!!! Symantec have overridden the tag of bloatware from their software!!! and about scan speeds? it's faster than nod!! to state my point, read reports on av detection rates from av-comparatives.org! My pc is an E8400 C2D with 2GB of RAM with Vista Ultimate 32bit ! and Kaspersky slowed it when it performed a start up or full pc scan!!! couldn't play any games when kaspersky was scanning in the background!!! I was surprised to find out that Norton could handle the situation! very well!! and about Eset?? they are awesome too, with very few false positives compared to Norton, but Norton again got higher detection rates according to av-comparatives.org !! I am very pleased on dumping KIS 2009 for NIS2009!! It feels sad that i had to switch from Kaspersky (used 7yrs) to Norton !! I hated Norton a lot!! Now, everyone, rethink about it!

The exclamation points indicate amazement from those of us who can't believe that the news about NIS morphing from ultra-hog into light-as-air (yet powerful) wasn't just hype. I guess some people just can't accept that things can change, even when it's for the better -- especially when it's in such a mainstream company that people love to bash based on OLD experiences.

I distrust any review that feels the need to drop exclamation marks like fcking napalm.

I completely agree with this. People stop rating Norton poorly because of history. Look into the present! Actually TRY the new version rather than giving a bad rating for every version just cause you hated old versions!!!
