"It's useless if it won't install"
Version: Norton Internet Security 2010
Pros
nothing about this release is any use
Cons
everything
Summary
Will not install on Windows XP Pro SP3. Keeps insisting I need Administrator privileges, which I have! I'm the only user, and my user type is Administrator. I've been a Norton/Symantec user for 10+ years, but this is going to be the end. IN fact, this could be the last straw with Windows.

"It is OK..."
Version: Norton Internet Security 2010
Pros
High detection rates
New features, like Norton Insight
Solid firewall
Looks goodCons
It made my computer run slower
Browsing the internet with Firefox was slow after installing Norton
Uses too much resourcesSummary
I thought that Norton Internet Security would be better than other versions, but it didn't really impress me, it still was slow, and slowed down my computer. But, 2011 may improve.

"Norton Security Suite Review"
Version: Norton Internet Security 2010
Pros
Sans entire system, Tune Up Tool
Cons
Slowed down the system to a crawl and even prevented valid emails.
Summary
I have had so many people ask me about the Norton Securtiy Suite provided free by Comcast I decided to try it myself. The results were horrible. While the program did scan for viruses, tune your system, it slowed down the system to a crawl and even prevented valid emails going to Microsoft office outlook. To make sure the Norton Suite was the problem I only removed the program the result was that the system returned to its previous fast state and I once again was able to get emails properly. To remove the progrma goto Symantic.com and use the norton removal tool.

"the best security software i have used"
Version: Norton Internet Security 2010
Pros
excellent detection, really good link scanner, easy to use, firewall is silent but it works well, does not require much intervention from the user and extremely small impact on system performance
Cons
quite a few false positives and most settings are hard to find
Summary
i have tested many products including eset nod32,kaspersky internet security, panda global protection avast free and avg free but symantec has a stellar product that everyone should try

"Try it out before shouting at Symantec!"
Version: Norton Internet Security 2010
Pros
1. Faster than other product that i've ever used
2. Run well on slow computer
3. Small Performance ImpactCons
1. Cause the svchost.exe took a lot of ram after installed
2. Sometime, NIS become freeze when disinfecting the virusSummary
It is a good step from Symantec. You guy need to test it out before posting a comment here! You have just said NIS is terrible with several errors that i;ve never been seen on my rig.
If you think the product is terrible, tell me with good evidence. -
"seems good so far"
Version: Norton Internet Security 2010
Pros
it came installed on my new HP desktop..I'd had Norton in the past and grew to hate it..I used AVG and AVAST for the last several yrs..this NIS is fast and seems good but I've yet to encounter and worms or viruses..time will tell
Cons
not much to dislike..it's fast..I like this interface much better than my previous version..it updates quick which used to be an issue..thus far zero complaints but I've not used it that long either
Summary
I am still on the free trial period..it's unlikely that I'll spend the kind of money that Norton wants for this or any AV software..especially when AVG and Avast do the job for free..this seems like a nice, easy to use product..the interface is much easier to use and all in all this is a much better product than the one that I used for about 3 yrs ending in 2004, I think...

"BE CAREFUL!"
Version: Norton Internet Security 2010
Pros
1. Superior comprehensive protection.
2. Reasonably easy to use - many options.Cons
1. Slows computer and network. In some cases, copying large files or number of files will hang system.
2. Terribly slow backup solution.
3. Can't completely disable without uninstall.
4. Tech support treats you like an infant.Summary
IMHO, avoid this program! However, if you want great individual computer protection from viruses, malware, spyware, websites, etc., and don't mind minor computer performance degradation and MAJOR network (intranet) slow downs, then this may be the program for you. The problem is particularly bad when copying over small home office networks (P2P) and performing similar network operations. In some cases, large file copying or backing up over a network using conventional copy techniques (xcopy robocopy, etc.) will hang the computer. If you have NIS and wonder what the heck is wrong, don't waste your time manipulating windows or router settings - IT'S NIS and Norton will not acknowledge it. All of the reviews by the major computer websites sing it's praises, but they did not test it thoroughly enough. I performed many tests over my home network with different OS's, computers, settings, etc. and the problems did not resolve until I removed the program completely (it's unique security features will not allow you to completely disable or terminate the processes. Even manipulation by msconfig or services.msc will not do it.).

"top of the line"
Version: Norton Internet Security 2010
Pros
high malware protection enabled with "sonar" protection and has features that many other suites AND anti-virus programs dont have
Cons
virus protection still is a little short.
Summary
"norton"'s price 70$ for three users is unbeatable compared to most anti-virus programs
next to kaspersky this is my most recommended anti-virus EVER. -
"Best out there"
Version: Norton Internet Security 2010
Pros
sonar, light on the system, very good in detecting and removing viruses, spyware, etc. good firewall
Cons
I found none thus far
Summary
best internet security out there. Buy it and you will not regret it

"Too many false positives and slow"
Version: Norton Internet Security 2010
Pros
Ok interface, has many guards but this is just bloatware in my opinion
Cons
->Too many false positives. Flags files as malware when they are clean. Checked on virustotal.com
->Too many guards. Simplify.
->Slow at times to boot, and watch hi def .mkv files.
->Switched right back to ESET NOD32 fast & BEST PROACTIVE RATES!Summary
Ditch this and move over to ESET NOD32. Used for many years without failure. Just install it and forget its there on your computer...Yes its that lightweight.
