"Can Spymantec go away please?"
Pros
Nothing good can be said.
Cons
Automatically renews off your credit card, unsecure, has worse effects than most viruses, you have to pay for it, slows down the PC
Summary
Please be aware that I hate Norton with a passion, and am taking the time to worn unsuspecting people. Spymantec who makes Norton is a greedy company that Doesn't care about their consumers. They will automatically renew Norton each year without telling you, and charge your credit card. This is even if you don't have it installed. Worst of all, Norton doesn't find any viruses. There have been numerous times that Microsoft Security Essentials (free, which I highly recommend and does not deserve any bad reviews) has found 10 plus infections on Norton machines. Also, it drastically slows any PC. It will slow the loading of Windows, and opening of any program. Please also be warned that Spymantec pays people like CNET to give them good reviews (why MSE is rated so low is because Microsoft doesn't make any money so they don't pay them). Please be warned if you are considering buying any Norton product that it will make your computer horrible!

I can't take the rest of the review seriously because of the claims of renewing without permission... I have Norton installed and used it the prior year, it will sit there out of date and remind you that you need to renew it.. I have never had Norton charge my card without permission.

If you're running both programs that explains why Norton was ineffective on a virus. Running 2 antivirus programs at once will disable both.
