"Rescued some really dire exposures for me"

    November 01, 2007   |   By alby_williams

    Version: Noise Ninja 2.2

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Holy crap, I was absolutely astonished at the transformation when I ran NN on some underexposed and heavily fill-lit (in Lightroom) shots. Areas of darkness that were full of noise looked like they were perfectly exposed. Just tried it on a few twighlight shots from a much older 5MP cam and they too were resurrected by NN. So if you keep losing shots to shake in low light, dial up that shutter speed - NN looks like it'll happily restore about two stops of useable detail. All it needs now is a Lightroom plug-in and it'll be a top-notch tool. You might think it's a little pricey but it earns its money as it is - look back over your library and you'll surely find great shots you can save with this tool. Full marks.

    "Noise? what noise?"

With Noise Ninja, there is no such thing as noise in a digital file. It is the best software for cleaning up images. ISO 1600 looks like ISO 200. It is amazing, as is the company. If you do any kind of high ISO shooting, you will definitely benefit from this.

    "An essential plug-in"

    March 26, 2005   |   By George Pytlik

    Summary

This is one of the most important plug-ins in my arsenal. The implementation, with a standalone app that can batch-process files, is excellent. User interface, while not perfect, is superior to many other plug-ins, with many options. Even 200iso images that I generally used to think were fine-grained enough not to need any help, are improved after applying Noise Ninja.
