Version: NoClone 3.2.60
Pros: NoClone 3.2.60 is the best utility I have tried for finding and removing duplicate files. Unnecessary files can really clutter up your hard drive and waste your needed disk space. NoClone finds all your duplicate files in seconds and gives you the option to delete, move to a temporary file, or move them to your recycle bin. I found all the features to work very fast, and I recommend that you try NoClone and recover your disk space. I give NoClone 5 stars and two thumbs up!
Cons: Trial version will only remove 30 files, but that is enough to test it before you purchase.

"I've never tried duplicate file removal programs, but this one seems to be good."
Pros: Clean interface. This can go both ways (see the cons). There are no colors or pictures or icons, for those who like it that way.
Considering that I did a search on the entire C:\, the scan was pretty fast.
The interface is easy to use...click some buttons, check off the ones you want to delete and click some more buttons. Not hard at all.
Helpful hints show up to guide you along the way.
Determines duplicates in two ways: 1) filename, of course. 2) file size.
Besides finding clones it will find all 0 byte sized files in the search targets, as well as files which cannot be accessed (i.e. files like NTUSER.DAT).
Unlike CCleaner, this program does NOT find problems with generic named files (document1.doc, or book1.xls for example). Im not sure if CCleaner still finds these files as trash, but at least this program doesn't find them...unless of course they are duplicately named or sized with another file in the search targets.
The duplicate files are listed in the same color, with each new duplicate set having a different color. It is very easy to browse through and see which are duplicates of one another. Green to green...red to red...blue to blue...etc.
The best part of it all is that you can double click an entry in the search results and it will open in the default program intended for the filetype. If no default program is associated with the filetype then the file will open in Notepad. Brilliant feature.
You can preview pictures in the program. Great for determining whether two pictures, marked as dupes, are in fact dupes without even opening the files.
For files that have a version associated with them, i.e. DLL files, the program will list that off in the results as well. Another brilliant feature.
Cons: Clean interface. It can be a huge negative for those who like colorful interfaces with icons and pictures and all that jazz. Include this with the fact that there is no skinning and this is certainly not a program for the colorful minded.
On first program run, the window was sized improperly, hiding the most important part of the program, the box which would have the search results. Whether this is related to using Windows Extra Large fonts, I dont know. But I had to resize the window on first run. Just a little annoyance.
While I think file-name duplicate searching is imporant, the file-size duplicate searching could be an issue. I say this because not all files of similar size are duplicates. If the developer can confirm that the program not only checks filesizes but actually checks the file content of the duplicate files of same filesize, then forget I ever mentioned this as a con.
As I said, this is the first duplicate file finder I have tried. Its not free, and it is impossible to believe that freeware alternatives don't exist. So it won't be until I check out a few freeware programs of similar nature to see whether the $30 they are asking for NoClone is really worth it.

Version: NoClone 3.2.60
Pros: a useful tool for a messed up PC. if you have a large collection of mp3s and pictures then try this one to find out how you can recover some precious hard-disk space. in my case, i could clear up to 200mb of my hard disk. worked fine and really really fast. catched almost all duplicate mp3s and other files too.
Cons: bad, very bad interface. quite tough for novice users to understand how to handle this program. if you don't take care, you may end up losing both copies of duplicate files, so take care!
missed one (only ONE as i could find out. great, isn't it?) duplicate file too.

"30 file deletes doesn't allow for a real test drive."
Pros: It was fast and apparently comprehensive in sorting duplicates, zero files,...
Cons: 30 files out of a gazillion or even a hundred doesn't spark any interest. Typical strongarm sales pitch that leaves me cold to evaluate any further. Uninstall after first run.
