"Why use this??"
Version: No-IP DUC (Dynamic DNS Update Client) 2.2.1
Pros
An o.k. program...however...why even use this? There are programs out there that will make your computer a file server without the hassle of the "middle man", and it's as fast as your connection. These programs run off your ip address...and most users who want to run a file server are running on broadband...in which your IP *in most cases* stays the same. So all people have to do is punch in the ip address on their web browser and that's it. Makes a direct connection...and these programs allow you to create usernames and passwords for these people.
I use one of these programs...and it works great! Always on...always fast. You can set them to either download from you...upload to you...or both. And some such as "www file share pro" let you set this up for individual people...so if you want joe to be able to upload and download...and only have bob download..you can do that. This may work better for some users.
