"Small, Easy to use, VERY useful"

    May 1, 2010  |   By DarkFlam3

Version: No-IP DUC (Dynamic DNS Update Client) 2.2.1

    Pros

Updates when ever you want it to, from 5-725 minutes, allows you to set times to NOT update should the occasion arise. Little system usage and small size... VERY useful

    Cons

Minimum of 5 minute refresh if you need faster, you're out of luck. Other than that, nothing

    Summary

I love No-IP for so many reasons. I use it for a test webserver, testing client's websites and giving them demos right from my computer, I know some who use it for game servers, ventrilo servers and teamspeak etc. Never have issues with extra lag when I'm gaming, and it doesn't even make a connection when it's not updating, so it's not like it will eat up your bandwidth. Simple, useful.. It's like a swiss army knife for running a home server. (Also let's you use custom domains if you run a dedicated server)

    "Awesome software."

    April 7, 2010  |   By RjBass

Version: No-IP DUC (Dynamic DNS Update Client) 2.2.1

    Pros

Easy to instal, easy to use

    Cons

limited in the amount of redirects with the free version

    Summary

I have been using this software for a few years now. It is perfect for home or small business's with dynamic ip address's issued by their isp. With this software you can remote connect using the web address you choose from No-IP. You never have to worry about the current ip address of the business or home you are trying to connect to. I love this software so much I have purchased an enhanced package that allows me to have more then 5 host redirects.

    "easy trouble free"

    April 2, 2010  |   By ajef7885

Version: No-IP DUC (Dynamic DNS Update Client) 2.2.1

    Pros

runs in background, never have to touch it.

    Cons

re register every 60 days but small price to pay for free domain name for a dynamic IP address.

    Summary

I use it on my machine and my 75 year old mother in laws machine. That way I don't have to go to her house to help her with problems. I use VNC and just log into her computer from my house.

"Works in all versions of Windows...even NT & 98"

    February 9, 2010  |   By lewisedge

Version: No-IP DUC (Dynamic DNS Update Client) 2.2.1

    Pros

Program runs in the background, and like ET, it calls home every half hour to keep up with changes in your dynamic IP address. Unlike other software that performs this function, it's independent of the router that you use.

    Cons

I haven't yet found any flaws or features not to like.

    Summary

ISPs charge big bucks for a fixed IP address. This client software, in conjunction with it's companion Website, allows you to keep track of your dynamic IP address just as if it were fixed. I can use PCAnywhere to access my server files from anywhere I have an Internet connection no matter how often my ISP changes my address. Great little program and a good service. For most people it's FREE, so you cannot beat the price either.
