-
"Great functionality for a free pdf reader."
Version: Nitro PDF Reader (64-bit) 2.3.1.1
Pros
Well designed interface makes this very easy to use, and to print to a PDF file.
Cons
None really - there's a lot here for free.
Summary
Provides more useful features for free than Adobe Reader.

"Nitro a good inbetweener. But it has irritating cons."
Version: Nitro PDF Reader (64-bit) 2.3.1.1
Pros
Nice interface, good features better than Adobe.
Cons
Interface and features not as good as Foxit.
What is very irritating though is that it tries to take control of your PDF reading. So much so that it prevents you from installing Adobe.
I have a multi-monitor system for study purposes, and require 2-3 PDF readers as not one of the available readers allow you to have 2-3 documents open at the same time each on a different monitor screen.Summary
A nice package inbetween Adobe and Foxit, but Nitro prevents me from running my system as I want it. I consider this as unethical and bad practices.

"Great product"
Version: Nitro PDF Reader (64-bit) 2.0.1.11
Pros
I downloaded this the older version program about a year ago and recently upgraded. This software is amazing and outperforms some of the paid software we use in the office. I could only imagine what the full prices Pro-Version offers.
Cons
I notice the program gets a little glitchy if I've had it open for too long, but simply shutting down the software and reopening easily corrects the problem.
Summary
I have recommended this to other coworkers in the office.

"Excellent product. Easy to use"
Version: Nitro PDF Reader (64-bit) 2.0.1.11
Pros
Slick interface, Ribbon toolbar familiar and intuitive. Smooth operation, Includes separate free PDF reader if you want
Cons
A little pricey at $119 but can't beat it. Best PDF maker out there in this price range.
Summary
Sorry, I thought I was reviewing the Nitro PDF Editor, not the reader. Reader is cool too, but comments I made for the PDF Editor are still valid.

"Does what it should"
Version: Nitro PDF Reader (64-bit) 2.0.1.11
Pros
More features than standard readers
Fast loading
Writes/creates PDF filesCons
None that I can see
Summary
Great replacement for bloated readers that don't do anything except read PDFs.
-
"Not really 64-bit"
Version: Nitro PDF Reader (64-bit) 2.0.1.11
Pros
Opened a large PF file. More than 9000 pages
Cons
Bogs down at same point as other 32-bit readers
Summary
Still bogs when loading extremely large pdf files. Runs in 32-bit address space, not 64-bit as implied by the name

"Works well, and gets you away from Adobe!"
Version: Nitro PDF Reader (64-bit) 2.0.1.11
Pros
All the features you could ask for in a PDF reader.
Cons
None known, but I also am now using a portable PDF reader now(Sumatra), but I liked this one. Very user friendly.

"Great little program packing a punch!"
Version: Nitro PDF Reader (64-bit) 2.0.1.11
Pros
It fulfills most immediate needs without hogging disk space. The ability to open multiple tabs is a great bonus if you have to work with multiple pdfs simultaneously. That alone makes it my favorite pdf reader. Also, it is neither cluttered nor pretentious as certain other, popular free pdf readers. Start-up and response times are fast; another big plus, especially if Nitro is used for presentations.
Cons
The ribbon at the top is too broad and uses up too much display space especially if used with a widescreen; a real bother - there must be a way to make the ribbon narrower. Nitro is also still somewhat glitchy when exitted other than over the file menu - a minor inconvenience.
Summary
A great program with the potential to be turned into a stand-alone pdf program if some more editing, e.g. page extraction/deleting are added. Certainly my preferred pdf reader by far.

"Great for school papers/forms."
Version: Nitro PDF Reader (64-bit) 2.0.1.11
Pros
I use this for my sons' school forms I'm constantly filling out. Several times I've found myself redoing them and it was time consuming. This is a great program. I just turn the paper or emailed file into a PDF, save it, and then can change it and either email it or print it. Also, this way I've found I rarely loose all those loose-leaf sheets of paper that were hogging up my desk and filing cabinet. The files it creates work well in Evernote as well. Another thing I've used it for is copying text or pictures from my college text books and making neat notes and highlights, and then transferring to Evernote.
Cons
The only con that I can think of are the emails I get occasionally. They are reminding me that if I buy the Pro I'll have more capabilities.
Summary
This is a great tool. I only wish I had found it sooner.
