however, this application is in my hallowed halls as one of the top 10 apps of my life.
it has made me, not only on my first launch, but on a number of others, made me gasp, say all sorts of celebratory four letter words while laughing in between, and dare i say.....made me tear up a little on the state and future outllook of software design.
*censored*in' bomb.
and here are some things that, to this day, make me wonder why duplication hasn't riddled their market...
â?¢ take the slide show and make it go as slow as possible and with the least amount if time per side.
go to the web site and others and start looking for quartz compositions. they are everywhere, theyb are free, and most often designed by cutting edge people with great taste.
â?¢ now, take those quartz comps you found and their stock ones and duplication them into your screensaver folder(s)! starting to feel light headed.....
â?¢ now go to http://www.apaulodesign.com/widgets/wallsaver.php and download the cleanest and most efficient app (as tested by me) that will run all of your new (and old) screen savers as desktops!!!!!!!!!! the light weight qtz files that AC uses and that you've hopefully downloaded will run quite fast as they are very light and video processor dependent (for the most part). this leaves you room to run the beautiful renderings smooth as silk. multi-monitors no prob.
â?¢ now get rid of the finder and download pathfinder. in their are sme nice detachable preview windows, which run beautifully, these quartz animations while you do others things,. some are subtle and some will give you a head ache. DO IT!
so, if anyone has other uses with particular apps regarding this new way of visualizing, please send me an email so we can maximize these amazing gifts.
i suspect a person might write a tight and intuitive app that would let a novice dabble, mash and tweak some of \\his very own qtz files someday????
in the meantime, grab a projector, hook it up to your laptop and blast the ceiling at home while on your favorite drug with your favorite *censored* and go to town! toss in a fog machine and melt into each other!!!!
bbby
requests would be:
â?¢ more sound reactive animations
â?¢ more adjustibility. especially in their backgrounds and overall color (p.s. curves adjusting sliders?) also in the speed of the little buggers.
â?¢ make really really bomb ones that take time and charge a buck for them.
â?¢ speaking of bucks, make them work on iphones if possible.
â?¢ when making colors choices on multi-colors modules, stay away from rainbows, pleeeeease.
â?¢ drops the price to a dollar. i know. i know.....that sounds retarded. but ****, sell to 20000 for $30 or sell to millions for $.99! a-duh.
thanks for elevating the playing field, AC. change the name asap before the general public finds out. :) -

It's a nice piece of software and the "FX Chain" is a neat idea, for those like me who have virtual effects in the form of AUs (i.e. PSP Vintage Warmer and MasterQ). I don't understand how the people behind AudioCodex can't figure out how to implement FLAC support, however they sure are spending a lot of time on eye candy for the app itself.
I guess I will stick for the time being with the free iTunes and Vox - but hélas without effects. -

This software is the bee's knees (read a similar comment elsewhere, AudioCodex people?!!!). The Australians behind AudioCodex should not be confused with other Aussie material that is frowned upon (Neighbours / Home and Away) ! These AC fellas know a thing or two about music and how it SHOULD be heard. Superb. Brilliant. -

My favourite music player. Well worth the price to pay. iTunes is, to be frank, crap, compared to AudioCodex. -

Any time I make a change to the window I'm confronted with horrendous screen redraw nightmares that afflict all apps behind it tooâ??NASTY! Also, can't get playlists to display entire name, even if I drag the playlist column wider and wider, instead all titles simply cutoff and end with â??â?? ... â??â??
The way the visuals â??â??kinda but not reallyâ??â?? respond to the sound is pretty lameâ??â?? - basically there's no reason for me to use this application when I have better alternatives.
My Mac is Graphics-card stacked, so no clue as to why it's such an ugly mess.

This is THE ONLY music player you need. I have been using the Beta's for over a year now. I you are a singer, a musician, or an enthusiast, this is program makes it FUN to listen to music. One of the best features is te ability to speed up or slow down the tempo of any song in your collection, and the sound quality is superb. If you are trying to learn a part, you can loop the part and slow it down. You can also adjust the pitch, so if the song is too high for you to sing, or its not in tune with your instrument you can take care of that with a simple real time adjustment. UNlike iTunes, the visuals are INTERACTIVE. You can actually use a mouse or a midi conroller to manipulate the visuals to the music. For serious musicians, you can use all of your AudioUnit plug ins on any of the tracks!! Anoher greatfeature is Tap Tempo. You can tap the speed that you want your music to play back at, and AudioCodex works very well alongside other PRO app. An overlooked feature of AudioCodex, is the Bulletin board, and their fantastic, personal service. THUMBS WAY UP. -

Without a doubt, it is the best audio/video manipulator I have ever used (and probably, all most of us would need).
I particularly like the extensive preferences, and the ability to change the control systems to suit the beginer through to the professional.
Well done guys - keep it coming. -

"Soul Verdict"

Upon opening this latest update, despite any remaining bugs, I can boldly testify that this application will be for real. I don't base this statement on any light evidence as over the past six months I've provided my fair share of negative feedback regarding bugs and awkward usability issues (note that the only reason I took the time to criticize is because this application had "potentially tremendous functionality and quality" written all over it).
My evidence is the work I've witnessed this group of developers put into each iteration of their application. Not only has each update been a significant improvement over the last, but more importantly, they listen to their users. They listen and evolve. This latest update is a shining testament to that notion.
I can understand frustration with any bug related crashes, etc, but remember this is pre-release. I'd urge anyone who has tried AudioCodex and turned away due to bug-based disappointments to at the very least place a small reminder on your ical to check back in the future for a stable release. I'm not betting on the product, I'm betting on the developers due to what I've seen them steadily churn out. Due to developer dedication, AudioCodex will inherently become just as great, it's a mere matter of time. I know I'll certainly stay tuned!
Keep rollin' developers, you're almost there and should feel very good about the progress you've made. I'm looking forward to 1.0!
