"This is not a review, just some advice..."
Pros: ...for those wishing to use the old Netscape Suite. It has been a long time since I have used Netscape Communicator (almost 8 years) but I know its time has come and passed. However, it is not completely dead. The original suite eventually became the open source Mozilla Suite. Code from this gave birth to Firefox (probably the best browser on the block). Unfortunately, Mozilla Suite has now been discontinued as well. However, for those wanting to use the old Netscape Communicator there is still a very capable and modern option. Code from Mozilla was used to create the SeaMonkey Suite. It looks, acts, feels, and has all of the old parts of the great Netscape browser of the '90s, but with many modern enhancements. I suggest anyone wanting to Use Netscape look at this terrific option.
Cons: For its time, Netscape Communicator was the best. Now it is nothing more than technological nostalgia. However, its legacy is still very much alive in browsers like Firefox and, especially, SeaMonkey.

"Great for its time, but obsolete now"
Pros: The e-mail program is fully integrated, meaning that you don't need another open window just to keep checking for e-mails (great for lazy people, and quite convenient as well!)
The editing program is great for making very basic websites, or for viewing and editing websites that are already published on the internet.
Cons: It just wasn't kept updated to keep up with the standards of websites today. You can view simple websites such as Google very well, but go to a website with a complex CSS, such as Yahoo, and it just won't display properly. Many of the objects do not load in the correct area, or not at all.
It also has a lagging problem, where, when it is loading a website, it might freeze for a couple of seconds. This can be quite annoying to someone used to higher internet speeds.

Summary: It was good.. back when it was released. But things evolve, and the Internet is the biggest example of that. I can't say it's bad because it was designed for its moment, and it was quite efficient back when it was released. But not anymore. And it is... read more
