"Communicator is the "Jeep" of browsers"
Version: Netscape Communicator (32-bit Complete Install) 4.79
Summary
I have used some version of Netscape Communicator since I first started using the internet and internet email, since 1996. My ISP provided a branded Netscape browser with their install software.
Anyway, Netscape Communicator is rugged and time tested performer especially for those who don't need to access multiple email account simultaneously or view multiple web pages at the same time.
Communicator is a rugged, reliable billy goat of a computer program.
At a time when everybody is using FATware (resource hungry software) Communicator is fashionably thin.

"because it is free is bad?"
Version: Netscape Communicator (32-bit Complete Install) 4.79
Summary
perhaps to assume the failure... it would be better than to continue losing against IE

"It's a good oldie..."
Version: Netscape Communicator (32-bit Complete Install) 4.79
Summary
This program is good if you want to COMPLETELLY have a private time on the Internet (cache is easily accessible and can be easily cleaned without any third-party programs). Also it is built by old Netscape developers (not AOL) whereas new Netscape and Mozilla copy everything from IE and then say it is the best browser out there (they even copied pointer from IE browser). If you need a good privacy related browser and don't really care how some websites turn out, then this is a good choice. I have three web browsers installed on my system: Netscape 7.1, IE 6 and OF COURSE Netscape 4.7 Communicator. :-)

"Sucks use MOZILLA FIREFOX"
Version: Netscape Communicator (32-bit Complete Install) 4.79
Summary
IE has nothing you want or need. No pop-up blocking no built in search and no tabbed browsing. FireFox has all those without any plug-ins. FIREFOX is just as fast, reliable, and loads pages the RIGHT way.

"More than seven million downloads!"
Version: Netscape Communicator (32-bit Complete Install) 4.79
Summary
That's more than recent versions - I guess that's because this software is more than 5 years old!
A perfect complement for a Windows 95 or Windows NT machine with 32MB RAM and a 166MHz processor. I keep a machine like that just for the nostalgia .... :-) -

"A real browser"
Version: Netscape Communicator (32-bit Complete Install) 4.79
Summary
My experience with Netscape Communicator is excellent. It has never given me problems with the java plugin or the macromedia plugins, and I cannot say the same thing about Internet Explorer.
