"Excellent If You Don't Tweak It."

    November 1, 2010  |   By Several9920

    Version: NetVeda Safety.Net 3.8

    Pros

This is a perfect firewall if you leave it in its basic mode.

    Cons

When you decide to tweak this firewall all hell breaks loose soon after.

    Summary

When i first installed this firewall it was working perfectly, But then i decided to tweak it by changing a few settings around "BIG MISTAKE". It was like the firewall became confused and turned tempermental on me, Then it became tired and stoped responding to any of my commands altogether. This is a perfect firewall if left alone to work on its own, Just don't tweak it, If you do then expect all hell to break loose.

"The only firewall that won't drive you insane"

    September 10, 2008  |   By dugsbunny

    Version: NetVeda Safety.Net 3.8

    Pros

It works, it stays out of your face, pop messages are minimal and simple, it has a relatively simple interface, and anyone can understand the APP TRUST and ALERTS windows which tell you what the firewall is doing for you.

    Cons

There isn't much I don't like. The requirement to choose the Internet interface from a list may put off mobile laptop users. It would be nice if the program had a feature to pre-scan your c:\my programs folder to learn your applications.

    Summary

I've tried many firewalls after Sygate was folded into Symantec. None really provide the efficient balance that Netveda provides: easy to use, minimal and simple messages, doesn't overwhelm you with a complex interface or unnecessary displays, and doesn't drive you insane with invisible choke points that slow the PC. This is THE ONE.

    "The best ever"

    March 5, 2008  |   By itstherealshawn

    Version: NetVeda Safety.Net 3.8

    Pros

There is not a line long enough to explain the benifits of this firewall. I have downloaded almost every freeware wall out there and this beats them all. It has great internet content filtering and many other remarkable security features like if your kids are in a chat room and they give your address out to a stranger this wall can block out the text plus it can only be shut down by the system admin. Small file size very low on system resources and extremely user friendly even for the novice but fully customizable for the advanced. This is the perfect firewall.

    Cons

    There are none

"Good, but should still be a beta release."

    December 4, 2007  |   By techy73

    Version: NetVeda Safety.Net 3.8

    Pros

    Professional, easy to use.

    Cons

I like this software but it is not quite ready for release. There are a few problems such as the firewall forgetting allowed applications and the software completely refused to work with my wireless Belkin card. Also the product does not seem to be supported on the community forum. There are lots of posts regarding problems by users which have gone unanswered by NetVeda.

If the problems were ironed out and there was support on the forum this software would be excellent.

    "Causes Shutdown Problems"

    October 10, 2007  |   By Mike98

    Version: NetVeda Safety.Net 3.8

    Cons

Netveda Safety.Net 3.80.0001 causes Windows 98SE to crash during shutdown of Windows. This is very disappointing, because it looked like a good firewall, especial ideal for older operation systems like 98SE, where not a lot offer is.
