    "Good for non code webbers"

    October 28, 2011  |   By rixrox

    Version: NetObjects Fusion Essentials 7.5

    Pros

Very fast, easy to use after a little reading and practice. Lots of templates, lets you customize template pieces. You will be up on the web in less than an hour instead of days and weeks.

    Cons

Don't get to wordy with text. You will lose control of text place holding location on page making it not WYSIWYG. Crashes when placing big images on page.

    Summary

If you have to get a site up and running and have no programming skills and are not Dreamweaver savvy, this is a workable solution for you despite its quirky little foibles. If not sleek and sexy it is very fast and efficient. Bigger and more complex sites need more brains and time. You might just make enough money off your Netobjects site to hire a bigtime webmaster. if you don't get hooked on Netobjects, which I must confess, I am very hooked.

    Pros

    does nothing special

    "Great concept but lousy programming"

    January 10, 2011  |   By Twistedcan

    Version: NetObjects Fusion Essentials 7.5

    Pros

Great program and easy to use if you are an absolute beginner.

    Cons

Bad programming, complicated to use if you want to use the advanced features, many errors in program thet has not been fixed since version 4 (now 12), customersupport sucks, unstable.

    Summary

Netobjects is for some reason chasing the latest features in webdesign. They constantly add advanced features that (almost) no one will use because if you use these features you are propably a proffesional and you will do your website in one of the better programs like Dreamweaver. Instead of adding new features i would really like for Netobjects to reprogram large parts of the existing code and correct the code and make the program more user friendly.

"Customer support stinks. Have program I can't use."

    August 11, 2010  |   By joefrogcool

    Version: NetObjects Fusion Essentials 7.5

    Pros

My website did look nice when it was set up.

    Cons

Supposed to be easy to use. It is not. Had it working with Windows XP and had to buy a new version for Windows 7. It does not work so I am not able to make changes to my website therefore I have to find a new program that will work & pay for that.

    Summary

Do not buy this product. The only support you get is through their email or their website. So if you have a problem they can't take care of you are burned because they refuse to give you a phone number for support, only for sales. Once they sell you the product they don't care.

"Too difficult to upload into domain"

    December 13, 2009  |   By mellou4

    Version: NetObjects Fusion Essentials 7.5

    Pros

The software was easy to use but didn't offer choices that really appealed to me.

    Cons

    Bad, bad customer service!

    Summary

I made a whole website, turned out OK but I couldn't upload it into my MS OfficeLive domain. The Office people said that the website wasn't designed well so that all the pages were connected, etc. Anyway, I tried to contact Customer Service about 6 times and no one bothered to even acknowledge me. I guess because I didn't pay for the download. I had deleted my other site and had to rebuild it.

    "Waste of time"

    September 28, 2009  |   By hillytheman

    Version: NetObjects Fusion Essentials 7.5

    Pros

Interface is pretty good, easy to use, templates are ok, price is rite.

    Cons

Very unstable, doesn't save files, a little hit and miss.

    Summary

Constantly crashes losing everything you have created. Did this several times. Says pages are saved every time you change view but where are they saved to, I couldn't find my work. Not everything is well explained so expect to learn as you go. Using XP so can't blame Vista. I don't like to complain about free software and you get what you pay for but this program will frustrate you to death.

"Does just fine for my http://gochipmunk.com site."

    September 8, 2009  |   By madisonpete

    Version: NetObjects Fusion Essentials 7.5

    Pros

Ver 7.5. I do my own layouts etc. type faces, sizes. Takes time to get used to some things - being an accomplished typesetter with hot-metal and photo typesetting experience since 1943 - I've learned to run slowly 'till I get my balance.

    Cons

After several lock-up page msgs. I now do CTRL "S" often after each edit or manipulation of pictures, sizing/changing layout areas due to the memory being overflowed or some other related problem with either the program or my machine memory.

    Summary

The idea of creating type choices, sizes, weights is what I want to do. NOT write html code with < or > brackets; =, / etc. However, I've been spoiled with having to design the rules for the first photo typesetting cathode ray tube RC paper system designed in the world in 1972 for the State of Wisconsin. Pagination they called it. Long before anyone heard the word let alone put the definition into a dictionary.

Streaming text, headings, footings, dictionary running heads, footnotes flowing over many pages is what Pagination is all about. Eight thousand pages of camera ready (RC paper - read right) copy in forty-five days for Wisconsin Statutes - 1975. NetObjects 7.5 is my choice at present. Trust me ? I've compared this Ver 7.5 against Coffee Cup.

. . . and I'm still using Ver 7.5 - Net Objects Fusion. Someone will have to bribe me to update to Ver. 11.

NetObj - Keep doin' what you do. I read somewhere Front Page died a slow death. (I tried that many years ago. . . . No thanks.) jermerrill@sbcglobal.net
