"Nero 12 freezes when editing videos."
Version: Nero Ultra Edition Package One 12.5.01200
Pros
When it works, Nero is a great product for quick editing and burning.
Cons
This edition of Nero is particularly full of bloat ware. My biggest complaint is that there is a conflict with my system. Nero freezes on video editing.
Summary
I purchased Nero 12 mainly to do quick editing and video burning, especially since it's compatible with flv files. I soon found that it has a serious problem with freezing whenever I edit a video.
My other issue is that Nero wants to do too many things in one package. Why in the world would someone want a backup program with their video software? I do not recommend this product at all. The earlier versions were much better. -
"They should release Burning ROM as a separate product"
Version: Nero Ultra Edition Package One 12.5.01200
Pros
Burning ROM is good!
Cons
They should release Burning ROM as a separate product. This has become a bloatware. They are just shoving down unnecessary software down users throat.
Summary
Soon burning DVDs/BluRays will be thing of the past!

"BUY IT!!!!"
Version: Nero Ultra Edition Package One 12.0.02900
Pros
A brilliant product! I have just updated my old version and bought version 12 yesterday but haven't yet had time to use all the features. I have used Nero for years and years and have found their customer care really good and so I can't understand a previous post saying otherwise, unless it was just a one-of? Whenever I have contacted them, they've replied very soon afterwards and are very courteous too.
I have used loads of different burning software over the years but NERO is the ONLY one that accepts my long file names. None of the other programs do and come up with all sorts of errors. Not only this, it is a truly lovely piece of software and I can't wait to try out all the features.Cons
None that I know of.
Summary
A very good product and worth buying.

"Worst customer service in my history with software"
Version: Nero Ultra Edition Package One 12.0.02900
Pros
It's ok software, so so if you are lazy it's ok to get and install. I was lazy and got burned :( (get it?)
Cons
Nero lost my registration information.
Next time I re-purchased I was supposed to get a couple of other software packages, Nero did not send them and is refusing a refund.Summary
Worst software company for customer relations. Does not care at all. For Nero, money is all that is important. Stay away from Nero, if you have a problem they merely relegate it to "dissatisfaction" and do not respond.

"Complete media suit"
Version: Nero Ultra Edition Package One 12.0.02900
Pros
+ Support of allmost all file types in nero recode / export / and video editing.
As apposed to other users had no problems using this in windows XP. Also had not problems with the installation procedure. I dont mind it being big or taking alot space, I am paying for a product, if they want to add features that take space then the better it is for me. Thats probably why they seperated the instalation files into two files. One being the core components (300 MB) second being the content pack (700mb).
I had nero 11 platinum and would recommend getting nero 12 platinum for the following reasons:
* Highly improved nero recode, example, it now detects the different sound streams and subtitles from mkv files, and you can choose between the streams to export into allot other file formats.
* Added couple effects into video editing.
* If you are subscribed to their newsletter you can benefit from discounts
* Upgrading is cheaper compared to having to buy it the first time around.Cons
I would like to have more features in editing videos such as masking/ cutting / applying effects ON HAND/FREE SELECTED PARTS, Like some picture software have or like the more expensive video editing software software that can go for 5 to 10 times the price of the nero software suit.
I primary use Nero video and Nero recode / export only. -
