"Does the Job"
Version: Nero Multimedia Suite 11 11.0.10700
Pros
* does all my AVCHD to DVD home movies
* Doesn't appear to crash at all despite long periods of use
* *Loads of features for video editing and sound editingCons
* Doesn't seem to work well for older versions of Windows for other people, Wouldn't recommend for XP users
*Not very compatible for older computers (Based on other reviews)
*Not the prettiest user interface
*Cant drag n Drop files directly into projects ( Although I think this is to avoid issues caused by files being moved)
*Long render time, even on Quad core PC with files that were already HD digital (Not analog)Summary
I downloaded the serial and a "Trial" version. I have not had a single crash or freeze despite working for hours with Full HD files and multiple audio tracks, so Im happy with the reliability of it. It has all the features I actually use, but a few I wont such as some of the extra programs but I guess they try to cater for everything. Overall Im happy with this program although I think the interfaces could be redesigned but I guess that's just nitpicking. For XP users I wouldn't get this as it seems to not be 100% compatible (Based on other reviews) for Win7 it seems to be stable and decent.

"Don't use this"
Version: Nero Multimedia Suite 11 11.0.10700
Pros
Can't think of any
Cons
Do not waste your time with this. Especially do not waste your time with the 'free trial version', which takes up ridiculous disk space...then it doesn't even work. You can't actually 'try' any of the features of the software, it just keeps repeatedly telling you to pay for the product. I WAS considering buying it, but once I figured out that the trial won't actually let me 'try' anything...well, forget it.
Now it's taking Windows 7 the better part of half an hour to uninstall this piece of junk. So I thought I'd write this while I wait...Summary
All I wanted to do was burn a home movie to DVD, but I was dissapointed by the quality of the end product with Windows DVD maker.
I ended up purchasing ConverttoDVD4 from VSO. That one at least let me burn a trial (with text over the video), but at least I could see the quality was much improved compared with WDVDM. So I bought it. Two thumbs up for the VSO product!! -
"HUGELY UNNECESSARY And USELESS CRAP"
Version: Nero Multimedia Suite 11 11.0.10700
Pros
-Nothing... Starting From Version 8 Up To The Future Versions
Cons
-Stupid 370+Mega Byte Installer
-Took 15~30 Minutes JUST For Unpacking!!!
-Asking To Reboot Many Times (Prior To Nero 7 And Above)
-Wasting Too Much Time Installing
-Does NOT Support Windows XP
-Too Many Prerequisites When Installing In Windows XP, But NOTHING BUT FAILURE PIECE OF CRAP
-HEAVILY BLOATED 2 Gigs Wasted HD Space Just For Burning CDs And DVDs
-EXTREMELY SLOW Loading Of Burning ROM (As Of Nero 8)
-Very PRONE To Burning Failures And CD/DVD Writer Damages Due To Hogging And Loading That Took A LONG TIME
-I HATE Other Bundled Packages (i.e. PhotoSnap, Nero Video) That Can Brag My HD Space
-Advertises At My E-mail With Useless Promos
-Customer Support Is Quite Very Poor (According To Other Reviews)Summary
TOO MUCH BLOATED ON THIS! I've Replace Nero Bloatware With Another, Yet Open-source Ands Light-weight CD/DVD Burning Tools Like "InfraRecorder" And CDBurnerXP. Thanks To Those Developers Of Mentioned Open-source Programs.
I'm Stepping Down With Nero 6, Though...
Users And Buyers Out There In Everywhere Should NOT Use, Buy And To Try-out Nero Multimedia Suite, Since It's Very Bloated For Just Burning CDs And DVDs. Find Another Burning Software As An Alternative.

"Great Product"
Version: Nero Multimedia Suite 11 11.0.10700
Pros
Works great and will accomplish my needs for burning music files.
Cons
lengthy installation time.

"Keeps crashing. Useless software."
Version: Nero Multimedia Suite 11 11.0.10700
Pros
Looks great. Great features - IF it would work. LOVED Nero 6. HATE Platinum 11.
Cons
Confusing user interface. Crashes every time I try to burn a DVD. Customer service is non-existent. Kwik Media crashes all the time. Want you to spend $2 an hour for their buggy Nero Platinum sorry excuse for software. Tried to get online help via email - they wouldn't respond except with 1 "solution" that I did carefully several times - it didn't work.
Summary
I thought Roxio was the worst a few years ago because it wouldn't do what it said either. Turns out they put out a bug fix but didn't tell everyone. Found out from a friend. Now this one MUST be the worst. 2 weeks of trying, reinstalling, trying to get technical support help. Forget it. I suggest find something else. ANYTHING ELSE!

"Terrible value."
Version: Nero Multimedia Suite 11 11.0.10700
Pros
The photo handling is good.
Cons
You click on burn now nothing happens. You click on another burn symbol and it works. I tried backing up a single almost 9 GB file expecting it to span over two DVD's and the program got to 71% and freezes. I used "Back It Up" to save my media to an external hard drive and disconnected the drive after the back up finished. Next thing I know, Nero ate my hard drive space by creating a backup on my main hard drive. I didn't want that to happen, it just did it without permission. You have to watch out as to how many backup "jobs" you create because it will run them all simultaneously.
Some functions seem to be hard to find like audio editing.Summary
I'd just like someone to create a simple back up system. Something like 5 buttons Full, Differential, Incrimental, Single/Multiple Files, My Libraries. Another 4 buttons Hard Drive, External HD, DVD/CD with automatic spanning, Blu-Ray.
Another thing is that a back up disk doesn't seem to be available except for the first time you go to purchase. So burn the Download or risk losing the software. Extended download services are a rip off IMHO.
There must be other programs that are better than this Suite.

Updated on Dec 14, 2011I received a Newsletter from Nero asking for a Review, which I promply provided and I gave it a 3 out of 5 star rating. This was not published on their website. However I noticed that someone else had given it a bad Review due to their non refund policy. Today, I went back into the Review section to see if I had been published. No, and the other bad review had been "removed" so it seems that they will only publish 4 and 5 Star Reviews which is outright deception on Nero's part. -
"Nero 11 installation problem"
Version: Nero Multimedia Suite 11 11.0.10700
Pros
This is a problem. When installation has to install adobe flash player, it gives an error message if you have a newer version of the flash player already installed, Even if you uninstal the flashplayer, that's where it remains and does not install any further.
Fix: download the updated trial version, but can't seem to find the complete suite trial version whish is almos 1 Gb of size. only the Nero 11 of abt 341 Mb. It seems ridiculouse. What now?Cons
It's my money and I need it now.

"Does not work on XP"
Version: Nero Multimedia Suite 11 11.0.10700
Pros
There is nothing good I can say about this product as it pertains to use on an XP platform.
Cons
Cannot even recognize the DVD drives on my Dell XPS 400 machine running XP Professional. 3.19GHz processor with 4 GB RAM. Customer Tech support is a joke unless you are prepared to pay $1.29 for some nitwit in India to try and help. Of course he/she repeats everything you say to run the bill up. Nero has refused to honor their 14 day refund policy in their own own Terms and Conditions. Said it does not apply to electronically downloaded products but no where is that exclusion stated in the T&C's. I have instructed my Credit Card company to stop payment and I have removed the software from my PC. Piece of garbage. There should be a Class Action suit against Nero for this kind of deception.
Summary
Find another product if you have XP. Do not buy Nero 11 Platinum and expect it to work and you will face an up hill battle to try and get a refund. The only thing worse than their product is their Customer/Tech Service. I will post additional as things go along in my battle for reimbursement.
Well, Good News: I found an old copy of Nero 7 Deluxe laying around and loaded it. All apps and sub-apps work with no problem on XP. My TV tuner that has not worked for years under Media Edition even came back to life! I confronted Nero with this and they agreed to refund my Nero 11 Platinum price to my credit card. Took a lot of convincing but its hard to argue when confronted with demonstrable facts.

"Not Ready for XP Prime Time Yet"
Version: Nero Multimedia Suite 11 11.0.10700
Pros
The different modules open pretty fast. It's fun to read the hype and promises of what the program will do.
Cons
If you're looking to use the Nero Wave Editor in XP it will not work. After opening a mp3 file, editing it by changing any detail and then trying to save it Wave Editor crashes. When Wave Editor is re-opened all controls are missing. The menu bar is gone. Restarting the program does nothing to change the problem. Rebooting Windows offers no relief as well.
I have been in touch with Nero support and they confirm the problem and say they have put their technicians on the project of finding a solution that they will patch in a future update. How long will that be they do not say. The problem does not happen if I install Nero 11 in Windows 7.
Since I purchased this program mainly for burning CDs, DVDs and editing music files I'm pretty annoyed at not being able to use it for its intended purpose on my XP system. I actually installed Nero 11 on three separate XP computers running different hardware and the issue came up with Wave Editor each time.Summary
If you're a Wave Editor user and expect enjoyment I would wait before purchasing Nero 11 until they've fixed the problem. No one appreciates spending $40+ for a software program that doesn't work as the manufacturer states. That includes me as well.
When and if Nero fixes the problem I will be more than satisfied to update my review. Until then I'll hope for at least a decent cup of coffee and continue to use Nero 7 for audio editing.
I remember reading once that Microsoft was fine to issue a new program if it was at least 80% running. When I first read that I was pretty amazed that a company would think that way.I have more difficulty with Nero that issued a new version of their burning rom claiming that their Wave Editor works fine in XP and it crashes on use when editing a mp3 file. Over the last six or more years I've come to depend on Wave Editor comparably to getting a decent cup of coffee in the morning, and writing this review is hardly $40 worth of satisfaction.

"Worst of the Nero suites"
Version: Nero Multimedia Suite 11 11.0.10700
Pros
It will do more than any Nero suite, so far. They have a support site. I thought I would like it, so I bought it.
Cons
Their support site and forum aren't worth the time it takes to logon. With all the chores the suite does, they have made them much more complicated and difficult to adjust and use. They drain your wallet with Kwik Media, by charging you for added apps you might want, to do various burning jobs. I print directly to discs, and have used Nero for years... but this Nero CoverDesigner has given me more trouble than any so far. I finally figured it out, and could never get an answer from their forum. If you have a Nero suite, now... don't expect to know much about how this one works... and save your money. Get a freebie from the OEM ware that comes with your optical drives, when you buy them.
Summary
If you want to print directly to discs, be aware that CoverDesigner will fill your saved document folder with folders for every label you print and save. They say it's to make the files backward compatible and less problematic to open. I have found Nero 6 and 8 to be much easier to operate and less annoying than Nero 11. Nero has never been a picnic, but this IS a picnic and it is full of fire ants. Just my opinion. Oh, by the way... the trial download is severely limited, to the point you can't see all the warts.
