"Does what I need"

Pros
You are able to do real file backups that can be restored without using their proprietary software on proprietary archive files.
Has all the usual organizing & backup features that work reasonably well.Cons
Just like all the other backup software out there it is "user friendly", in other words simple interface, simple configuration without options to change even the most basic things, such as where working files are stored.
Doesn't have the capability of creating reliable & easily restorable image files of your boot drive, such as Norton Ghost used to do and Acronis now does very well.Summary
I hate proprietary archive files that require you to use the original backup software to access any files stored within them. Nero otherwise isn't the most fantastic backup software but at least it gives you the option to store as regular Windows files.
Just imagine. For years you have diligently backed up your valuable photos and suddenly your HD goes south. Well no problem, you pull out your trusty backup disks and proceed to do a restore on a brand new HD. Oh golly - disk number 6 has gone corrupt. Despite the other 20 disks being perfectly fine your Restore software keeps insisting that you provide file number 6 before allowing you to proceed any further. This is what happened to me with Acronis. You would think they would provide a way to create a new meta-file to exclude a corrupt archive file and thereby at least retrieve the backups on the good archive files. But no, basically their answer to all those who have had similar problems is "It's not our fault your disk was bad!" Maybe if you buy the latest version of our software the problem will be fixed! -

Every little thing CONS it!! The very worse software I`ve ever seen!! This garbage simply DELETED my external HD with ALL my photos!! A 1TB HD near full of photos completely lost! Without even a single notice!! Couldn`t it simply back it up?? Does it really need to format all HD???

If you really appreciate and advice, NEVER WASTE YOU MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE!!!

The trial program came with my new computer, I then bought a new extern harddisk and one day I was thinking "why not try the NERO back up feature, to safe a back up on my new external harddrive" good idea right?
NOT!!!!!
First of all the program ran slow. I then started do the back up and it ran slowly....... ok after it was finish I just wanted to check my external harddrive. GUESS WHAT it had FORMATED the harddrive without giving a warning and just created a NEW FOLDER with the back up file. I lost 20 GB of important workfiles. ( have a back up at the office, but as I travel and work I can not get to that data the next 2 month.
OK then I thought maybe the "retrieve lost data" feature could help. I asked it to make a deep scan of the harddrive - Estimated time for scan 2 days and 11 hours , this is so LOL
Don't buy it, don't use it. there a plenty of good back up software in this world, this is not one of them. Such a dissapointment. Now I have to buy virtual labs data recovery program to get my data back, I hope that will safe me. -

THIS SOFTWARE STINKS on Windows 7. Could not get it to run; wasted WAY too much time with incompetent product tech support. Will not be buying any more Nero garbage again!

Pros
After installing Nero Back It Up I got Nero Back It Up Has Stopped Working. Believe it or not this is the most positive aspect of this purchase.
Cons
After a lot of useless time with tech support, uninstalling all of Neros software, reinstalling all of Neros software doing all of the updates I still get Nero Back It Up Has Stopped Working.
Summary
There seems to be no one at Nero to give you a refund on their crappy software, I guess it will be a credit card fight to get it resolved. Buy at your own risk.

It is really easy to navigate in the Nero Suite I had; but none here will know it because although it's listed as 15-day free trial, trying to install it is impossible without a serial number!
Cons
Going online via the installation's link to their store shows that if one wanted to buy it there it would cost $29 or $39, not $19.99 shown here. Their website's offer of a trial is linked to those prices. Time to update information on this download?
Summary
I was happy to find I could get started immediately on a project by using a trial version that would be affordable to pay for after the trial. I need to start now! But I've now wasted a lot of time just looking for the software. Unfortunately, I have a version of Nero that I have lost that was not yet installed on my new machine. The way they've handled this, I hesitate to recommend them.

The product is fine, as I had it installed and accidently deleted it,and the company would not provide a download even though I have the original serial number.
I downloaded Nero back it up from CNET and after a long download I find it is just for a trial period.
This has happened bvefore and I wish you would state that it is for a trial at the beginning of the downoad. -
