    "Change for changes sake!"

    November 14, 2007  |   By lifeschool

Version: Nero 8 Ultra Edition 8.1.1

    Pros

The CD data burn is quick and available with one click of the mouse. Auto detects disc size and is a step beyond the old programme.

    Cons

In Nero 7, the classic version, all the myriad of options was available by cycling through the main screens, not anymore. I wanted to convert a video file to a better format but had to click on every option and run every application to finally give up. The DVD maker handles more formats but the simple one-click menu system has been trashed. Now, if I want to create a DVD menu, I have to spend 20-30 mins cycling through endless sub-menus to make one not half as practical. Even changing the background image is tiresome. By trying to sleek down the user interface and stuff in more features under the surface, the quick wham-bam usage of Nero of old has been screwed up and thrown in the trash! Patheric!!

    "Nero Ultra Products"

    November 9, 2007  |   By kritsch2005

Version: Nero 8 Ultra Edition 8.1.1

    Pros

Whejn I purchased NERO 5, 6, and 7 I found them to be state of the art for music recording for someone like me who wants a little more than Windows Media Player.

I had to do a lot of studying of the programme and its features which are good but sometimes a bit too technical for me.

    Cons

My BEEF right now is that I would like to upgrade to NERO ULTRA 8. Right now NERO has a special upgrade price of $49.99U.S. Gee that may be the U.S. buck in the old days but right now our Canadian Looney is $1.10. Even with this rise in the Canadian Looney, my CANADIAN PRICE price would be $53.xx . Why is NERO and other software companies STILL USING old currency conversion. I don't think that I was born at the back of the bus, but it would seem to me that our currency gives me a cheaper price than $49.99U.S. I would suggest that CANADIAN CUSTOMERS, DON'T PURCHASE THE UPGRADE UNTIL NERO GETS WITH THE PROGRAMME. I like to think that FAIR IS FAIR as I purchased my Nero 5, 6, and 7 when the Canadian dollar was worth only 62.xx cents behind the American Dollar. I expect retailers to adjust their prices to world markets but they are not so I shall leave my Christmas computer software ordering until later when foreign currencies catch up with reality.

    Sincerely,

    Timothy Kritsch
