    "Abysmal customer service"

    March 17, 2006  |   By swray

    Pros

Does what it claims in demo mode

    Cons

I have been trying for two months to get Nero 7 installed on my computer. I purchased the download and have been trapped in a support loop ever since. Would not install at first and then said the license code had expired. I only get automatic replies and no one seems to be actually reading my email or reviewing the troubleshooting files I have been required to send in. If you plan on purchasing this software DO NOT BUY it as a download, and prey you do not have to work with their costumer support as it is only available via email and they are in Germany. Nothing wrong with Germany, but the response times I am experiencing are a minimum of 5 days and as long as 12 days

The major problem I have had with the download is that their "Help" files were not part of the install at the time I downloaded this version and updated the version that came free with a DVD writer I purchased. I mostly like the software, however if I were not VERY familiar with all the CD - DVD tags e.g. Joliet, ISO 9600 , the help file says it is not installed, so I go ahead and d/l the help file stick it in the same directory as the appl, still the help does not work, the online price was supposed to be a good price. I have seen the boxed version for less. Bottom line, it's good software, they should have taken the time to be more careful with so that it worked flawlessly, insteadly of the kludge it is. Box version yes!!!, D/L yes if the help files are there, if not it's a royal pain. In essence I agree with my predessor in that regard.

It took one company of a program I purchased twenty-five days to answer a simple question that I noticed happened with other people, but they couldn't even answer that.
