Though primarily known for its CD- and DVD-burning prowess, the newest version of Nero Ultra proves to be a full-fledged media workhorse. The installation file is big and takes awhile to load; also, once Nero is on your machine, it consumes a hefty serving of memory. Considering all it can do, though, we can only complain so much.
The attractive StartSmart GUI opens a clear path for both beginners and advanced users to every aspect of the software suite. The burning options are as comprehensive as they come, whether you're working with photos, data, music, or video. Other features let you erase discs; convert audio files; capture video; edit photos; make backups; check your hardware specs; and create slide shows, custom audio mixes, and disc covers. Version 7 takes things one step further with Media Center-like features that allow you to watch and record TV, as well as manage your entire collection of media.
We would like a 30-day trial rather than having the demo expire at the end of the month, but if you time it right, you should be able to get plenty of use out of it. Anybody who uses their computer for entertainment purposes will find Nero Ultra 7 well worth its price tag.

Version: Nero 7 Ultra Edition Enhanced 7.8.5
Pros: I like what it can do.
Cons: I have the previous version (7.7.5.1)on my computer. I updated to the most recent version but found that Cyberlink PowerDVD 7 would not work (the image was blanked out when playing a dvd). I tried a couple of times to get things to work - but no luck. Decided to stick with the the previous version of Nero. Nero Home is surplus to requirements.

Pros: If you are not a computer wizz this helps you preform most of the tasks which most unskilled people couldn't normally accomplish.

Pros: I have been using since version 4 and have not burned any coasters since version 5.
Cons: The last 2 updates caused my computer to lose the DVD/CD burner drive. They do have a fix on their site, but it seems they could do a fix in the update program itself.
It is such a huge program and has too many modules, many of which I've never used and for which I probably will never have a need.

Pros: everything
Cons: what i dont like , is the fact that for some reason when i download it to me comp, i cant find it , ive tryed gettin it about 6 times in 2 days but its not there, its gone !!, idont know why this is but its a fact , ive downloaded other progs from d/load.com and they are fine , but not this 1 .

"all in one video and audio needs."
Pros: Works extremely well. Updated regularly.
All video/audio processes rolled in one bundle. Once you become a registered member,tech. support is good.
Cons: When installing or reinstall all traces of previous NERO programs MUST be removed to achieve a clean install. (Nero Clean Tool available from Nero website). Cannot add photos to video line, (YET).
