    "Not Installable."

    October 23, 2013  |   By meabarrett

    Version: Nero 2015 Platinum 15.0.03400

    Pros

    N/A - see below

    Cons

Can not evaluate - Keep getting "Installation Fails". Spent much time trying different techniques to install: ran as administrator; disabled firewall/antivirus protection; removed all the extraneous start-up processes; even added my purchased id-key to NCC and downloaded the package using NCC. All were failures. Nero's forum shows many having the same problem. Guess I will have to wait until Nero fixes the problem.

    Summary

    N/A - see above

"A One Stop Multimedia Suite Shop. See what I did there?"

    October 16, 2013  |   By dog8myscreenie

    Version: Nero 2015 Platinum 15.0.02500

    Pros

Ease of use, vast array of features, easy installation, can take the place of several stand-alone products, intuitive user interface, good customer support

    Cons

Can use a lot of computer resources when running applications, large size installation on HDD, trans-coding video files can take a long time with some formats, expensive for some customers

    Summary

I've been using Nero products for around 15 years now, and while I have tried other suites on the market, I've always come back to Nero. That's not entirely down to just being familiar with how the software works either. Some of the other applications I've tried have been unreliable, inconsistent, and just weren't able to provide satisfactory results.

Nero 2014 is a major overhaul to the suite, giving it a "Windows 8" desktop feel. I work as a music writer and radio presenter, so Nero is an invaluable tool for converting file formats, editing audio interviews for broadcast, and a great many things besides.

I also use the suite to manage my music library of over 30,000 MP3 files, and I use it to catalog my photographs, of which I take a lot, regularly. I also use it for editing video occasionally, and converting HD Camcorder Video files to AVCHD so that I can watch them on my Blu-Ray player. It also comes with a great media player, which does everything you want, and possibly more.

I know that Nero products aren't the cheapest on the market, but honestly I'd rather pay a little extra knowing that I'll be getting a quality product coupled with great customer support, than go for a cheaper option. The phrase "you get what you pay for" springs to mind.

Nero 2014 Platinum is actually great value when you weigh up everything it can do, and personally, if it wasn't available, I'd be using many different programs to do the same things that I use Nero for now. It saves time, it's efficient, and it does pretty much anything you're likely to need it to. I really couldn't do without it.

The reason the suite is so good, is because it's not geared toward a single purpose. Other suites concentrate on a single feature, then just bundle other stuff with it to beef up the package. Nero on the other hand, does everything equally well. There's no cutting corners on quality anywhere throughout the program, and everything works exactly as it should.

Is it the cheapest multimedia suite? Most definitely not, but it's arguably one of the best, and that more than justifies the price.

"Outstanding product with easy to use features."

    October 16, 2013  |   By ldhasty

    Version: Nero 2015 Platinum 15.0.02500

    Pros

Great product. Ease of use. Installation of products were straight forward. Features that allowing a more streamlined workflow for all multimedia files.

    Cons

Currently I have no complaints about this software suite.

    Summary

Great product!!! Not sure what the issues are with other peoples systems. Successfully installed on multiple Windows 7 and Windows 8 systems.

Ive been running this program on Windows 7 and Beta/RTM versions of Windows 8 without any issues. All of the programs run flawless on my machines and havent crashed or given any issues since I purchased and installed the product on my machines.

I have been an avid Nero user since around version 4 when there main product was Nero Burning Rom. As the versions have increased so have the functionality and usability of the software. It is truly a multimedia suite of tools available for all types of users from novice to expert at a reasonable cost to the end user. As of late the main product I use from the suite is Nero Recode since I am compressing and processing my DVD/Blu-ray library. As Recode has matured so have the features which make the tool easier and easier to use for day to day processes. The most notable improvement for my workflow is the batch processing feature that was added and improved upon since version 12. This feature allows me to queue all video jobs to be processed, it allows me to customize parameters for the output of the job and then runs all the jobs unattended until then end. Prior to version 12 I had to sit there and manually queue each job and process videos 1 by 1.

When my jobs are finish I view the finished product with their new and improved media player which handles all of my needs for the content I am viewing. Anyone on the fence about the software can try it before they buy it http://www.nero.com/enu/products/nero-platinum/whats-new.php for 15 days. After evaluating the product I am positive this software will fit all of your multimedia needs.

"NERO company and product are not user friendly.."

    September 13, 2013  |   By idontwantacct

    Version: Nero 2015 Platinum 12.5.01200

    Pros

I bought Nero 12 online, because I assumed it would work on my computer. That would have been the Pros. for it to work.

    Cons

the product never downloaded correctly. nero did keep sending emails, trying to offer any solution they can. the product, never has played on my laptop, I cant even open up the program. I asked for my money back, but with all the emailing they do taking a day or two to return with their so-called pretend services takes enough time for my return policy to expire, of course. no product, no return.

    Summary

Do Not purchase or affiliate yourself with Nero products.

"Not Even Close to The Hype"

    August 31, 2013  |   By Huckleberry77

    Version: Nero 2015 Platinum 12.5.01200

    Pros

The program does still copy disk and burn CD/DVD's, It has lots of features for editing, and making the full use of your burner.

    Cons

The program has too much fat in it...features that makes it crash, and many of the things that you want to use takes more programming to actually use. For example: Recode will not work to put ripped dvd's on your PC, without a decoder, then the program crashes all the time, even if you are not using the decoder, to make a copy of a cd that is copy right protected is illegal I know, but when you are retrieving information from the disc that is scratched why ask as long as you are taking responsibility for your actions. The company has forgotten about what made them popular and put junk in their programming to try to keep up instead of just making a great product like they did in the mid 2000's.

    Summary

I love the Ideals behind the product but it needs to be overhauled, and in my opinion everyone that purchased it should get a 90% price reduction on the next one that comes out.

    "Nero Stinkers"

    August 27, 2013  |   By Nerostinkers

    Version: Nero 2015 Platinum 12.0.02000

    Pros

    Colorful adds..
    Nice name

    Cons

    Many to many to list.
    but I shall attempt.
Going from Nero 8 which worked like a charm...then jumping to 12.5...
Its like they forgot that humans use this stuff.
    Very poor interface.
And to top it off...This program crashed my system with the blue screen...then crashed my video drivers 4 times.
I uninstalled it at once and asked for a refund...Neros non human response was something like this ...you dumb american...we have your money just like we took your money to rebuild our country after the war and we will not give it back to you..thank you and we may or may not think of you while we laugh at you all the way to the bank.

    Summary

Look both ways prior to crossing the street, then run like H@#% the other way and avoid Nero 12.5
go buy some older version of it off of eBay...
you will thank me for helping you avoid a pounding headache

"A former user and advocate: It's just sad"

    August 17, 2013  |   By coombspd

    Version: Nero 2015 Platinum 12.5.01200

    Pros

It's still one of the few affordable audio/video editing programs.

    Cons

They call it a free 15 day trial, but it's still limited to what they want you to see. Even with what they allow, it screws up. I'd say more, but I can't access all of the tools to really know if it's that bad. As is, I can't trust it enough to put out MY money for it.
Accessing help from a person: impossible.
Accessing help from their website: hit and miss. Seems to have a lot, but can't access some of what I wanted to.

    Summary

If anyone from Nero is reading this, know that I've purchased your products for over 10 years, and I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am in your company and Nero 12. If you were Microsoft, I'd be learning Linux.

    "Will not rip/edit LP tracks"

    June 18, 2013  |   By leo-9

    Version: Nero 2015 Platinum 12.5.01200

    Pros

    Installed OK

    Cons

WaveEditor (free download from Nero site) locks up when trying to save a large .wav file.

    Summary

I bought Nero 12, then downloaded the free WaveEditor and SoundTrax utilities. WaveEditor has locked up over 6 times in a row as I have tried to normalize, declick and declip and then save a .wav file, which is a complete side of an LP that I captured. Anybody know of a decent alternative (for XP)?

"Nero 12 freezes when editing videos."

    May 2, 2013  |   By asphinxo7

    Version: Nero 2015 Platinum 12.5.01200

    Pros

When it works, Nero is a great product for quick editing and burning.

    Cons

This edition of Nero is particularly full of bloat ware. My biggest complaint is that there is a conflict with my system. Nero freezes on video editing.

    Summary

I purchased Nero 12 mainly to do quick editing and video burning, especially since it's compatible with flv files. I soon found that it has a serious problem with freezing whenever I edit a video.

My other issue is that Nero wants to do too many things in one package. Why in the world would someone want a backup program with their video software? I do not recommend this product at all. The earlier versions were much better.
