"Horrible product; absolutely no customer service!"
Version: NeatWorks 3.5
Pros
I have receipts stored.
Cons
Crashes constantly. Despite doing the updates it constantly demands, it takes at least 1/2 an hour to load each time I use it. There is no live customer service. I called the 800 number and the man reluctantly told me he was "sales only". You have to email them, wait for them to answer and hope they can solve it that way. Naturally nothing they said helped... I wouldn't take this program if they were giving it away for free. I'm looking for another program now... I've backed all receipts to a pen drive because I don't trust this program at all. Don't waste your money!!!

"No trial version"
Version: NeatWorks 3.5
Pros
Scansnap compatibility.
Cons
No free trial
Summary
While they offer a 30-day return policy, it does not apply to the downloaded versions of their software. I won't buy any program that doesn't offer a trial period with full functionality so I can verify for myself if the product lives up to the company's advertising.

"Don't waste your money"
Version: NeatWorks 3.5
Pros
It was easy to install
Cons
It is not user friendly. It is not intuitive. The instruction guide is not clear.
Summary
I switched from the Windows version which was easy and worked beautifully to the Mac version because I bought a new Mac laptop. It is totally different with an awful interface and even worse instruction guide. Wow, what a disappointment!
and good luck creating a smart folder. Post a how-to please if you figure it out!

"God awful!"
Version: NeatWorks 3.5
Pros
Looks fantastic in reviews and promotional materials
Cons
1) Unstable, unstable, unstable - keeps crashing constantly, impossible to use.
2) Very buggy, everything is jumpy, interface elements vanish, receipts disappear from under your cursor.
3) Requires their branded hardware.Summary
Great idea, fantastic promotional materials but it's been years and NeatCo still can't release a stable Mac version. The Windows version is good but the Mac one is incredibly buggy and unstable.
Also, it doesn't help the Neat Receipt scanner broke after a year and their software will not work with anything else - avoid! -
"Getting there"
Version: NeatWorks 3.5
Pros
Print to NeatWorks using the PDF button in the print dialogue.
Drag and drop info from the scanned image to the database fields (if it is not accomplished automatically).Cons
Needs tags.
No graphical reports.
Creating smart folders is somewhat confusing and unintuitive. Also, the number of criteria used for creating them is limited.Summary
Nice improvements with each update. I previously used Receipt Wallet (now called Paperless) v1.x, and there were frequent crashes. Also, I constantly needed to send files to the app twice, because it would never work the first time. NeatWorks has crashed on me only once, and the ability to drag data from the original to the database is a huge plus.
