"Another Average and very expensive product"

    March 26, 2006  |   By Rkatz42

    Version: NXPowerLite Desktop Edition 2.2.2

    Pros

The interface remains very basic and identical to the standard version of this product.

    Cons

Intergrated?? I was expecting to see a nice looking user tool bar to appear as with some of the other PowerPoint compression products. No tool bar, but requires an astonishing $45 to upgrade to what is essentially the same product as the standard version. I personally would not recommend paying this sum for the upgrade.

    "Even better than version 1"

    February 12, 2006  |   By simonbailey

    Version: NXPowerLite Desktop Edition 2.1

    Pros

I was very happy with the old version of this software, but decided to download this 'integrated version' so that I could compress my presentations from within powerpoint. It works brilliantly! Now I can shrink my presentations with the click of a button. I'm consistently getting compression of more than 90% and I can't see any difference in quality between the compressed file and my original.

    Cons

I honestly can't think of anything bad to say about NXPowerLite.

    "brilliant time saver!"

    February 12, 2006  |   By tonecoke

    Version: NXPowerLite Desktop Edition 2.1

    Pros

Quick and simple, does exactly what is says and does it well. I produce a lot of training materials that involve capturing screen shots. I used to take these in to paint shop pro and resize, convert to jpeg, etc. But now I just hit the PrtScrn button, paste the big bitmap in to my presentations, and use nxpowerlite at the end to convert all the graphics for me - saves me hours! Its also really useful for dumping stuff like xl charts in to your presentation, because you can choose to turn them in to plain images too so people cant edit the figures on your spreadsheet.

Basically, if you prepare graphics for presentations, you can just let nxpowerlite do it instead saving time - and if you dont 'prepare' graphics (but just dump them in), then running your presentations through this afterwards makes them a *lot* smaller, quicker to edit, etc! great stuff. thanks!

    Cons

    Cant think of any!
