"NTI hits another home run!"
Version: NTI CD-Maker 2000 Pro 9.0
Pros
Can edit audio and video files, create slideshow presentations with special music to create ambiance at a party or holiday, pick a transition to that conveys the mood you want, upload it to YouTube or burn it to DVD!
Cons
Well, I haven't really found anything I don't like about it, but, with it being by NTI, I didn't expect it. I can always count on NTI to be user friendly, have rich-features, and be reasonably priced.
Summary
I really like it that it is so easy to use. I have had it with products that are so complex that time goes by and keeps going and you find reasons to avoid using the software because it is so darn hard to understand. NTI manages to avoid that trap without losing its rich features that meet our needs.
I also like it that I can do so many things all with the same software, but all the tasks are related so that it makes sense to have them all in one place. The new desktop gadgets are a nice touch and make it convenient to use those options, with them all located in one place. I know I will use it to rip my music into backups omy pc so that when I am creating slideshows, I can use my music directly from my laptop. .
NTI provided me with a reviewer's copy of this software so that I might review it; however, that, in no way, affected my review of the product. Like thousands of people out there like myself, I rely on reviews by consumers who have used the software in making my choices on which product to buy. I am extremely grateful for that tool in evaluating the choices I make and would, in no way, corrupt this necessary advantage for consumers. I never follow through on a product's review if I cannot wholeheartedly endorse the product. I would return any review copy, if necessary, to avoid leading you astray. NTI products have been on my computer for years, and, due to the quality of the software, user-friendly rich-features, and reasonable prices, I expect to continue to use them in the future. NTI has never let me down, and I will not let you down with an unwarranted review. -
"Working reliably, compact hi-quality burning suite."
Version: NTI CD-Maker 2000 Pro 8.0.0.6317
Pros
Compact size, reliability, compability, ease of use, good-looking UI, price after promotion (Suite version)
Cons
None cons at all
Summary
I have a suite version, v8.0.0.6517 that is the latest version. ( the Premium version adds the backup program and some other bells and whistles). Came known with this software as roxio creator 2010 stopped working, and refused to re-install to my new win7 64bit laptop, kept on rebooting while installation, so got fed up with Roxio and found this software. It's a much lighter than Roxio and still is able to do all i expect from a burning suite, plus even much more!
It's compatible and has not burned any coaster yet, launches very quickly, has clear and intuitive GUI, also the installation went without any errors, it has performed and worked 100% well, near to perfect. Roxio sometimes failed in some tasks. I'm very glad that i purchased a license, which costed only about 22 ? (29,9 USD) after 50% promotion found on NTI Us website. -

"(OEM v7) Capable burner with confusing interface"
Version: NTI CD-Maker 2000 Pro 8
Pros
Works great, burns stuff like it says it does with support for all standard features including overburn. Ability to split project over several CDs automatically. Cute dragon animation. Automatic updates do not require uninstall of old version (easy!)
Cons
Advanced options are difficult to access and are scattered in several menus. Allegedly problems with overburning (search on google for forum posts). No HD / Bluray support. $29.99? Not worth that much to me.
Summary
Works well enough. Check this tool : BurnAware Free first though, it is exceedingly superior to NTI :P
