"If you use WAMP don't get this!"

If you download WAMP, expecting it to work and it doesn't look at your task manager and chances are there it is running in the background - WITHOUT being asked and preventing WAMP from running at all!

Originally got the OEM version on a new Toshiba Canvio Hard Drive and installed it on a brand new Asus Laptop with Windows 7 64-bit. Immediately noticed Volume Shadow Services (VSS) errors in the event log indicating NTI Backup Now EZ is a 32-bit program not capable of calling 64-bit VSS.
VSS is critical to getting an accurate backup within Windows because it takes a "snapshot" of open files that are in use and subject to change by the operating system and other programs. NTI's website implys it's software works with 64-bit operating systems, but Microsoft is clear about a 32-bit program not being capable of calling 64-bit VSS.
So, I upgraded to the latest paid version, NTI Backup Now EZ 2010, thinking maybe this had been fixed, but I found the same errors. NTI tech support immediately started blaming Windows (the usual tech support finger pointing routine) even though I have provided documentation of the above issues. Now they have stopped responding to emails.
Don't waste your money like I did! -
