Pros: Nothing. It is the front for a marketing campaign that sells keywords promising to put their business at the top of search engine results. Many unsatisfied customers. You are advised NOT to download this product.

Cons: It is the front for a marketing campaign that sells keywords promising to put their business at the top of search engine results. Many unsatisfied customers. You are advised NOT to download this product.

"Spyware, and a front for a SCAM"

by StayClearOfScams on August 30, 2007

Pros: Nothing. It's spyware. It's used to trick people into buying keywords that promises to get their business listed above search engine results.

Cons: This is a front for a big scam that's been going on for years. Spyware companies are promoting themselves as: "get to the top of Google, Yahoo, and MSN search guaranteed for your keywords."

When someone downloads this online toolbar and does a search, the program takes over and the information is data merged with other pay-for-keywords data feeds. When the search results page is displayed to the user it looks like the natural results or even large site targeted Banner Ads at the top of the leading search companies. Depending on who you talk to in these organizations, they claim to have 10 or 20 million network users. That number is BOGUS.

People do not have a clue that this downloaded software is changing the relevant results of their searches, plus potentially monitoring all the keywords they type in their browsers.

Enter Attorneys, Realtors, Insurance Agents, and businesses looking for leads in the market place. An agent gets a cold call from a nice and sincere sales representative asking the agent if they are interested in getting thousands of leads and website visitors guaranteed? The agent is told how they can place a website at the top of certain keywords searches from the 10 to 20 million network users. With numbers like that, anyone would want to hear more information.

The salesman says they can place, say, your real estate website at the number 1 position for anyone looking at Homes For Sale in your area, plus, the hits to your website will prove that we are sending traffic . You will get thousands of hits ! To prevent over selling this technology to too many Realtors we are limiting it to the first 3 that sign up.

There is no telling as to the extent of how many American and International Professionals, for all professions, are captured by this net and how much revenue is being taken in. The tentacles of this illegal operation could be much greater than anyone could imagine. In fact, multiple websites are being created under different working ownership.

    "SCAM - Beware!"

by machaos on April 23, 2008

Pros: Nothing, this is nothing more than a cleverly designed tool to install adware, spyware and trojan. The companies offering this tool, are Portal Response Technology (which they claim is now out of business), One Top Firm and Search Direct Media, these are all the same companies, with F Rating at BBB online, Warren Wise involved everytime. Scam includes soliciting advertisers promising enormous traffic (which is only generated by their inorganic hit generators).

Cons: I don't like anything about this software, it does nothing, go to the fbi site and you can search predators there just as easily....I really don't like that Download.com even offers this as a download. You're only hurting this site's reputation. I for one will be much more cautious about any software available on this site and that's sad.
