"IT'S GETTING BETTER BUT"
Version: MyCam 1.1
Pros
The interface is simple and effective. Attractive. Needs polish however.
Cons
Still has shakery playback on QVGA. Needs polish.
Summary
In reality no computer is going to handle making a Hollywood film, but a quality video is within the reach of every computer user willing to carefully hand-pick a resolution setting, a video format, and maybe even a temptingly low framerate. MyCam would be as good or better than any of the other programs if it covered those three points under the Options icon-tab, seeing as the publisher has some aptitude with "basic content versus typical excesses." I'd go on, but time is money.

"Shakey Playback"
Version: MyCam 1.1
Pros
Easy to install etc. A simple looking interface. Easy to use. It looks like it would've been a nice clear video capture but ......
Cons
The playback was awful. Very shakey and jittery. I tried to play around with it but couldn't stop the shaking playback.
Summary
The shaking playback makes it useless for me.
MyCam is a fail. -
"Would not run."
Version: MyCam 1.1
Pros
Says it was free. Had no malware in it. But not sure of limitations because it would not run correctly without shutting down 4 times.
Cons
Windows shut down the program twice when trying to start the program.
Then when it did finally run, I was testing the recording and when I hit stop, windows shut down the program again.
It will only run from a zip file. That stinks. -
"Yes,this works!"
Version: MyCam 1.1
Pros
MyCam downloads and installs as a zip file program (like some versions of Chromium browser does.)Therefore it is light on computer resources such as Netbooks. So it won't take up too much space on your hard drive. And it works.
Cons
It is only available as a zip file download and installation. There is no Windows installer download,or installation.
Summary
I do not like programs that are zip file downloads as they do not register in the list of installed programs in programs menu.So MyCam will not show up in the default programs menu to set as your default program. For example I have installed Chromium web browser as a Windows installer download instead of the zip file version so,I can set it as my default browser and keep track of it,with Windows, when it is updated. And as Windows installer download is easy to troubleshoot if there are any problems with the program. Where as zip install is not, that is why i prefer to install my programs normal download as opposed to zip.But having said that this program DOES work. And it works on Windows 7 too.I was able to record videos of myself from both webcams,my built in one and my external webcam. And I was able to save them and play them in SPLITCAM(see my review on this product.) I have found no problems with this product it does what it says it does and is very user friendly. Some tips,to install just download the zip file and extract all files to programs folder on C/drive.That way Windows or any software updater you have can scan the program along with your other installed programs and let you know when there is a new updated version available. After you have extracted the files there will be another zip file installer in downloads folder.Extract this one to documents. but unlike a lot of zip installations you wont find the icon on your desktop. So you need to just open the file in documents find the MyCam,launch icon and right click with your mouse send to desktop. You will then find the icon on your desktop and you can just open the program from here. Otherwise it you just extract all of the files to desktop you just get a file that you will have to open and search for the launch icon every time you use it,which is not very convenient. So you will now have 2 files stored of Mycam one in programs, which is just there with your other programs but I found I could not launch the program from here. That was why I created a second file in documents for launching the program. After all when you install a Windows program for example Microsoft office programs, it often creates 2 program file, one in programs on C/drive,the other in Windows system 32,which you do not touch or you could mess up Windows. I have downloaded and tried many different webcam programs in the past 2 days but they have had to be uninstalled again. Either because they did not work or because I downloaded them only to find that after a short trial period they are not free and you have to pay to continue using them. Which I do not want to do. But this program,MyCam is free to use for as long as you want it,you do not have to pay for it.Which is what I want and what's more it works without any problems. And if ever you did want to uninstall it,you just go into your programs file on C/drive and delete the program file and delete the file in any other folders you have copied it to. As being a zip file program,it cannot be uninstalled in the uninstall a program menu. But some how I do not think you will need to do that. Well,I won't be uninstalling this anyway as I am very happy with this product. And I think you will be too.Andrea Borman.

"Simple download. Simple program, . Works as suggested"
Version: MyCam 1.1
Pros
Is a simple program that does not ask you to buy more software. Integrates with notbook camera with Win 7.
All elements of program remain in download file. Put shortcut on desktop yourselfCons
Soes not have a way to adjust camera. You will need a camera native program. Alternately you can adjust where you sit.
Summary
I had upgraded a dell notebook to Win 7. No camera driver from Dell available. This program is simple, small, free and is able to capture video.
