CNET Editors' review
Excel's built-in plotting capability can only create one left-right axis per plot. Office Expander's Multy_Y is an add-in for Microsoft Excel that creates multiple Y axes on the left side of plots using existing Excel charts. Each Excel chart appears as a new Y axis on the selected Multy_Y plot, whereas the plot itself is depicted on a separate Excel chart. It can generate automatically formatted plots from XY-scatter plots. You can plot time factors on the X axis of Multy_Y's plots, too. The fully customizable plots created with Multy_Y will display in any Excel edition, not just those that have the add-in.
When you download and install Multy_Y, Excel opens with a sample generated plot, but the program advises checking the Setup sheet for additional information that may be necessary to run it, such as ensuring trusted access to the Visual Basic Project in Excel's Tools menu. Once the add-in has been properly installed, the Multy_Y button appears on the Excel file menu. Clicking it calls up a simple dialog for creating new plots. Multy_Y needs at least two Excel charts to create a plot, but the dialog includes three samples to choose from. Multy_Y plotted the sample numeric data, combining air, velocity, and sensor data, including time data, in a clear display. Creating charts from other data is just as easy; the program lists all available charts in the Excel workbook, and you simply select those you want to plot. There's an Information tab that does a good job of explaining the basics, but this is an easy-to-use tool. Multy_Y is compatible with the developer's EZplot package, which bundles Multy_Y and other tools.
If you regularly need to plot data from several sources in a single chart for clarity or comparison, now you can use the familiar Excel interface instead of a complex, expensive standalone plotting tool, thanks to Multy_Y.
Editors' note: This is a review of the full version of Multy_Y 1.01. The trial version has a watermark on output.

"Sorry, pretty weak."
Version: Multiple Y Axes For Excel 1.01
Pros
Example looks pretty
Cons
Granted, I only tried the demo, but yet another program that looks great but is limited. Only works with limited amount of data items (255).... What?
Otherwise, it looks ok for small projects.Summary
If I knew how to write a plug-in I already have code that does better job in stand alone apps. This is one area that Microsoft really needs to pick it up. But... find a suggest improvements location on microsoft website... Not!
