"Didn't work"
Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 3.0 Release Candidate 1
Pros
It looks , and from the reviews sounds like it will be great, if I can ever get it to work.
Cons
It is supposed to automatically detect my current email service provider, settings, etc. but it didn't. I tried the manual setup but that didn't work either. Perhaps my knowledge is insuffient to do the manual setup,
Summary
After threee attempts I have given up. Maybe the final release will be better. I have a fairly common email provider and preferences and even completely disabled my firewall and AV for one attempt. Oh well....

"Good, but not 2 years of development good"
Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 3.0 Release Candidate 1
Pros
No big changes from Thunderbird 2, same basic concept, but laid out a bit better. It is also easier to create new accounts. Release Candidate is very stable.
Cons
No big changes. Free yahoo mail users (like myself) have no option but to switch to gmail or upgrade to yahoo mail plus if they want to use Thunderbird 3.0. Minimize to Tray Plus should be included with the program by default.
Summary
Good, but not the kind of changes you'd expect after 2, almost 3 years in development without a major release. Like I said above, I can't understand why some add-ons aren't just coded into the program. Thunderbird gives you a message in the bottom-right hand corner of the screen when you get an email, so why wouldn't it minimize to the tray? And what about programs like YPOPS which let you use a free yahoo mail account with Thunderbird> After 3 years you think they could have coded that into Thunderbird somehow. Anyway, overall its good, but a little less then I expected.
