Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.6
"A nice replacement for Outlook Express"
Pros: I've been using Thunderbird as my default e-mail program for about a month with no problems. To be very honest with you, though, I really haven't seen any difference between the two programs. It's as good as Outlook, but I can't say it is better. If you hate Big Brother,((Microsoft) I'm sure you will love Thunderbird. Try it, it's free!

Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5
"Looks exactly like Outlook Express...not as fast though"
Pros: Its free.
It looks and feels exactly like Outlook Express.
It is Outlook Express plus some stuff from Microsoft Outlook not in Outlook Express.
Outlook Express mail and address book is easily imported into the program.
Comes will a built in spam filter.
Cons: The program is quite slow in comparison to Outlook Express. I ran it on recently formated-reinstalled Athlon 1.2GHz machine, and it was quite sluggish. Compare this to very smoot Outlook Express operation.
Import process requires that an account already be set up on the machine. You can't just open Thunderbird, click import and locate the mail backup files. You have to first have an account created in your mail program, and THEN you can do the import process, as Thunderbird looks to a default location for the mail backup files, you cant alter this process.
Same goes for Address Book.
Takes some time getting used to if one is a long time Outlook Express user.
You can import mail from Outlook Express to this program, but there is no way to export mail from this program back into Outlook Express. So once you start using this program you are kinda stuck with it.

Im a long time Outlook Express user, and I really dont feel like learning a new mail client that is in fact slower than Outlook Express. So while Thunderbird is a great freeware product, I dont see the positives of using it for a user like me when all I do is mail and address book.

Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.2
Pros: This has been by far the best and most easy to use e-mail client that I have used. It has an excellent spam filter; which is the easiest to set up compared to multiple mail clients. It's very suitable even for beginners. You can skin it, customize it... it is very feature rich too. And best of all, it's free and open source! You can also set up accounts easily. What more could you ask for? Get it now!
Cons: None!

Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0.0.6
Pros: "Mozilla Thunderbird" is by far the most fun, fast, safe and customizable email client there is. It has a customizable GUI with several themes that can match your "Firefox Browser" and thats one of my my favorite things about it. It has good spam filters and is smart enough to block emails with suspicious attachments, yet allows good size file transfers. It's easy to setup and supports several email formats. It far outshines the email client built into windows, regardless of which version you use. It's free and I can attest to it running great with "Vista".
Cons: I have no complaints to offer here.

Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5.0.2
Pros: A great alternative to Outlook and Outlook Express, customizable, stable, fast.
Cons: Minimize-to-tray Mozilla extension should be included by default as well as the calendar extension.
