    "Cross-platform goodness."

    December 8, 2004  |

    Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0

    Summary

I recently migrated from Windows to the Mac. Before the "switch" I knew that I might face some compatibility complications with various applications. Never once, though, did this thought cross my mind with regards to Thunderbird. As I imagined, porting my email turned out to be the simplest task in the process.

    On Thunderbird features:

After training my junk mail filter in Thunderbird, only legitimate emails make it to my inbox. Spam, however, goes to the Junk folder, where it belongs.

Back when I used Outlook Express, security was a primary concern. This more because strong security measures weren't enough to keep my computer safe. The program was inherently insecure. With Thunderbird, however, I have the confidence that viruses will never be executed without my explicit approval.

    "The best available"

    December 8, 2004  |

    Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0

    Summary

I have been searching for an email client that is easy to use as well as that can sort junk emails on its own. And this is the best available. Way ahead of other email clients.

"Great spam filtering, easy to use & totally stable!! I LOVE THIS PROGRAM!!"

    December 8, 2004  |   By Reuben_K

    Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0

    Summary

With Outlook Express, I had to purchase a 3rd party program just to get spam control (which cost me $30), and it wasn't really that great. With Mozilla Thunderbird, it's there by default, and it's a hell of a lot better. Overall, TB is a hell of a lot more advanced that Outlook EVER was, and much easier to use. I also like how you can extend its usefullness by (like with the Mozilla Firefox browser) downloading & installing extension programs. But the clincher, for me, is how stability & security is made a priority. I like how any bug that pops up is immediately fixed (Try that with any Microsoft-based product like IE or OE. It ain't gonna happen!!) I'm NEVER going back to Outlook Express!! Mozilla Thunderbird is now my default e-mail program. Try it!! You won't be disapointed!!

    "The Best Ever!"

    December 8, 2004  |

    Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0

    Summary

The only reason I am giving this excellent product a negitive is because it isn't fully compatiable with Exchange, and not mention nobody voted against it yet and I don't want to follow the crowd. This is simply the best, espieccialy if you have enemies that send you "Undesirable Emails".

    "Great!"

    December 8, 2004  |

    Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0

    Summary

I've used Thunderbird since 0.8 and its been great the whole time. Imported mail from Outlook easily and quickly and is much faster to open than Outlook (and uses less memory). The possibilities for extensions and themes makes it a good choice too, along with the lack of security problems in Outlook (express).

    "worth a try"

    December 8, 2004  |   By ivanii

    Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0

    Summary

Thunderbird has many features which make it a great mail client. It is definitely much better than Outlook Express.

I guess that it could have better interface, but most of the e-mail program have even worse. Also, there are few bugs, but they should not make you feel bad using Thunderbird.

Well, it is up to you to try and decide - I use it.
