    Pros

Always has been and just gets better all the time.

    Cons

    "Nightmarishly useless"

    September 16, 2016  |   By epantel

    Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 45.3.0

    Pros

    Installs in seconds.

    Cons

If you have an old email program on your HD, Thunderbird copies its settings and doesn't let correct them or it hangs if you try to make changements. So sometimes you can't get new messages, sometimes you can't send yours.
It also wouldn't remember your passwords, you can get artritic typic them thousands of times.
Curiousely, if after installing Thunderbird you install EUDORA OSE, which has a bad reviews, Eudora OSE goes smoothly, and does all than Thundebird refuses (check & send messages).

    Summary

    Unusable and useless.

"Too much options, too limited services"

    August 20, 2016  |   By epantel

    Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 45.2.0

    Pros

Easy to configure for using at a very protected hosting.

    Cons

Couldn' get it woiking off-line, doesn't save emails to MY disk, only on the server.
Could offer to select its functions: I don't need NEWS, CHATS, etc., only email.
Very unclear environment. To enable/disable some common features you can search for them hours, and you need to rededine them for each account.

    Summary

Program that imposes its will over yours, makes very difficult, if not impossible, to choose your options. For obedient customers.

"Strange email appeared that is not on server"

    July 27, 2016  |   By RMIGHTY1

    Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 45.2.0

    Pros

Looked OK. I had just installed it.

    Cons

I just installed it. Strange email appeared that is not on server. Said my Corel password request required clicking on link. Obvious security breach to me. I had to uninstall Thunderbird.

    January 13, 2016  |   By ottoblotto

    Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 38.5.1

    Pros

It works sometimes, is fairly straight forward

    Cons

When it stops working it is almost impossible to fix. this has now broken several times and will not recover.

    Summary

Ordinary software from mozilla, not recommended really, much better out there.

"Yes and no, con and pro"

    December 9, 2015  |   By Brian Daly

    Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 38.4.0

    Pros

Flexible, with brilliant message filters, ability to line up your mail records in a filing system with subfolders, keep folders flagged with unread or marked as unread messages

    Cons

T-Bird inexplicably makes multiple needless copies of messages, re-marks read messages as unread, drops indexed search folders, drags feet when trying to read some messages. Find myself having to read and answer my mail OUTSIDE T-Bird, before opening it and letting it sort things. Worst still, you ask the forum and oh do they get testy! Often the first thing they ask you is, "What were you doing at the time?" HUH?

    Summary

Needs work A lot of work. And less attitude from the forum.

"adding multiple accounts a nightmare if even possible"

    November 25, 2015  |   By kentobin

    Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 38.4.0

    Pros

easy to install and uninstall. so far it doesn't appear to have caused any collateral damage.

    Cons

Unable to import Microsoft Outlook 2010 e-mail addresses
Unable to add multiple e-mail accounts - allegedly doable but not not simple for a thunderbird newbie
Profile editor was of no use at all - might of worked if you didn't need a seminar to understand how use it

    Summary

I wasn't able to add multiple e-mail accounts. it might be doable but it's not just a simple pull down menu with an add server option.

There was an import function for e-mail addresses and it even had an outlook option but it didn't work. Possibly it didn't support my version of outlook?

I setup one e-mail account that worked and then tried to add a second e-mail server. No pull down "add another e-mail server" option. Then read about using thunderbird with an option to run a profile editor. The only profile in the list was called 'default' so I assumed it would have my information from my already configured account. Couldn't find that information and not sure what it was doing.

If you like to spend hours figuring out how to configure an app this one might be for you but if you have other things you like to do I wouldn't recommend it.

    August 26, 2015  |   By Elena_Rulevskaya

    Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 38.2.0

    Pros

Good interface, address book works "in one click", good attachment reminding, powerful search tool and fast search results.
    I like it.

    Cons

Good e-mail client, but the well-known commercial products are better ))

    Summary

Good e-mail client for personal use (but not for office)
