    "slow waste of time"

    May 20, 2012  |   By randolm01

    Pros

updating from version 3.6 to version 12 was easy
It was faster for about the first few hours after install
the annoying 'uprade now' harassment stops... well for a few months until the release the next 10 versions

    Cons

(compared to version 3.6) slower, takes much longer to start up
flash plugin doesnt seem to know how to load- like in v3.6 its prone to horrible memory management (in 3.6 it would take 1.2Gb for 1 tab but would start out only using 300Mb after first loading the game, v12 still has this problem however in V3.6 simply close the browser and reload it in to regain its speed v12 it doesnt work, first it will try for 5 min until flash plugin crashes then again it crashes then after restarting it cant load facebook? or is a simple restart supposed to take over 10 min while 'downgrading' took less than 1
slows down heavily (serisouly a simple website like facebook all of a sudden takes 3 minutes with no progress on v12 but after downgrading it only took less than 10 seconds compared to the 380 sec+ load time of v12)

    Summary

3.6 is faster more stable and since problems with memory hogging has not been fixed avoid this unless your idea of a upgrade is going back to dial up
